Slow Horses future revealed beyond season 5
As a die-hard fan of gripping spy series and a connoisseur of Gary Oldman’s unparalleled acting prowess, I could not contain my excitement when Apple TV+ announced the renewal of Slow Horses for a sixth season!
Apple TV+ has officially renewed Slow Horses for a sixth season.
In September, the award-winning spy series made its comeback for a fourth season. The grand finale was streamed online just last week, specifically on October 9th.
The show was renewed for a fifth season back in January, with filming wrapping recently.
The news is out that the sixth installment of the Slough House series has received approval from Apple TV+, ensuring its continuation.
Globally, viewers have developed a strong affection for the ‘Slow Horses’, and I’m thrilled that Gary Oldman will be spearheading this high-profile ensemble as they embark on another witty and action-filled journey,” remarked Jay Hunt, Apple TV+’s European creative director.
The sixth season of the “Slough House” series by Mick Herron will be based on the sixth and seventh books, introducing further turmoil for Gary Oldman’s character, Jackson Lamb, and his team as they face new challenges from MI5’s second-in-command.
In the sixth season, the Slow Horses find themselves fleeing as they are unwillingly drawn into a lethally risky game of reprisal and vengeance by Diana Taverner. This intriguing summary hints at the thrilling events to come.
The television series “Slow Horses” has garnered numerous accolades so far, with Michael Oldman’s portrayal of the grumpy Jackson Lamb earning nominations for Golden Globes, Emmys, and BAFTAs.
Lamb is a reluctant leader of a dysfunctional team of British intelligence agents who have been demoted from their MI5 posts to “dumping ground” Slough House.
Despite being marginalized, they find themselves once more at the heart of the action due to the deceptive machinations of the covert intelligence community.
In addition to Gary Oldman, the series “Slow Horses” features actors like Jack Lowden, Saskia Reeves, Rosalind Eleazar, Christopher Chung, and Aimee-Ffion Edwards. Notably, Sir Jonathan Pryce plays the role of Lowden’s screen grandfather, a character with a past in espionage.
In the fourth season, performers like Ruth Bradley, Tom Brooke, Joanna Scanlan, and James Callis made their appearance on the program. It is anticipated that they will return to their characters for the upcoming episode or series part.
Slow Horses seasons 1-4 are streaming on Apple TV+.
