Slimmed-down Jelena Dokic serves up delicious low-calorie meal during special guest appearance on Adam Liaw’s cooking show
As a dedicated follower of Jelena Dokic’s journey, I am continually impressed by her resilience and determination to not only excel in her professional tennis career but also prioritize her health and well-being. Her recent appearance on The Cook Up with Adam Liaw showcased yet another talent – cooking! Despite having minimal experience in the kitchen, Jelena effortlessly prepared a delicious low-calorie meal, leaving me in awe of her versatility.
On Monday, I had the pleasure of witnessing Jelena Dokic’s versatility outside of tennis as she prepared a scrumptious, low-calorie meal for a cooking show.
41-year-old sports commentator from Channel Nine made a special appearance on SBS’s The Cook Up with Adam Liaw, sharing the spotlight with chef Darren Robertson.
Even though her culinary skills were limited to cooking at home, Jelena found it effortless to navigate the professional kitchen when she prepared delicious king salmon packets filled with peas, potatoes, and baby carrots.
She posted a picture of her cooking on Instagram with the caption, “I find it hard to believe myself, but look what I made! Honestly, I didn’t think I could pull this off, but I can manage a few dishes in the kitchen.”
Last month, Jelena addressed public commentary surrounding her recent weight loss, insisting she dropped the kilos for health reasons.
In the caption, she emphasized her happiness in both photos, explaining that losing weight wasn’t her primary objective but rather a consequence of embracing healthier lifestyle choices.
She emphasized, “I’m content and pleased with myself in both photos, irrespective of my weight. I’m also consistently kind.”
She emphasized that her focus is on improving her health rather than reducing her size. Many people have inquired about her weight loss, but for her, it’s merely an unintended consequence of prioritizing her health.
In response to critics suggesting she had resorted to drastic dieting, Jelena explained, “I didn’t shed pounds rapidly. It took me approximately 10 months to lose 20 kilos, which is not a quick feat.”
Jelena shared that she had shed the pounds due to having a family background of diabetes and more recently, discovering she had high blood pressure.

Apart from sharing what method she employed, she mentioned that she had adopted a practice of abstaining from evening meals as she often felt lethargic in the mornings.
‘I don’t eat heavy meals at night anymore and I don’t eat after 7pm,’ she said.
Nowadays, I opt for larger servings of salads and soups for my meals. For instance, I enjoy a Chicken Caesar Salad or a bowl of Tomato Soup with multigrain bread.
1. After having this kind of food, I don’t experience lethargy and I’m satisfied. In fact, I’ve increased my water intake and significantly reduced my consumption of both regular and diet sodas.
