A lean man with messy hair caused a stir on a Los Angeles film set this week while getting ready to film scenes with Kristen Wiig for their upcoming movie.
People didn’t realize it was Jonah Hill, 41, until he took off his sunglasses. He looked quite different while working on his new comedy, *Cut Off*, which he also wrote and directed.
The actor, famous for his work in films like Superbad and 21 Jump Street, looked very different from usual. He was dressed in character, sporting a tight leopard-print shirt, fringed jeans, and a messy blonde wig that brought to mind Brad Pitt’s look in the 1997 movie, Legends of the Fall. He also appeared to have lost weight.
Between filming scenes, he checked his lines while sporting a unique look – tinted glasses, a beard, and a silver belt chain.
Fans were surprised by the dramatic change in appearance of the actor known for The Wolf of Wall Street. This latest transformation is just another example of his willingness to reinvent himself, something he’s publicly discussed alongside his commitment to health and fitness.
Kristen Wiig, 52, turned heads with her playful outfit on set. She wore bright red lace tights, a short pink skirt, a turquoise bra over a lavender top, and a cozy velvet bathrobe while filming scenes near their trailers.

During breaks in filming, the close friends were spotted laughing and talking on set, giving fans their first look at the unique and imaginative world director Hill has built for the movie, Cut Off.
Hill not only wrote and directed this film, but he also stars in it. It’s his biggest directing job since *Mid90s*, and he’s working with Kristen Wiig again on what’s shaping up to be a very popular and quirky comedy.
Cut Off is currently in production and scheduled to be released on July 17, 2026.
The new comedy features Kristen Wiig and Jonah Hill as a pair of spoiled siblings who are cut off financially by their parents.
Okay, so I was completely blown away by Jonah Hill’s documentary, *Stutz*. It was so brave of him to be so open! He talked about his anxiety, which I totally get, and how it affects his weight – he actually discussed all of this *with* his therapist, Phil Stutz, and they filmed it! It wasn’t just some surface-level thing; he really dug deep into his struggles for this film. It was incredible, honestly. He was so vulnerable!
The director of Winning Time remembers growing up with the idea that exercise and diet were about fixing a perceived flaw in your appearance.
No one ever explained exercise and diet to me as ways to improve my mental well-being, and I wish they did. I think it would make a big difference if that connection was made more clear for everyone.
Jonah has spoken openly about the deep emotional impact of being overweight as a child, saying it was a very difficult experience. He still struggles with those feelings, often feeling like his younger, insecure self – a teenager who was overweight, had acne, and felt unworthy of attention.

‘Inherently, at my core, I’m still this unlovable person,’ Hill explained.
It’s slowly becoming clear that being this person is a good thing, but it’s still a difficult process.
Jonah Hill first started losing weight in 2011, after his 21 Jump Street co-star, Channing Tatum, suggested he work with a nutritionist and a fitness trainer. He discussed this on The Tonight Show in 2016.
Hill’s weight went up to 270lbs in 2014, but by 2017, he had lost it again.
