SkyNews Caught Watching Reality TV During Budget Coverage!
During the 2025-2026 Federal Budget coverage on Tuesday night, it seemed like Sky News Australia team members were also tuned into an episode of Married At First Sight.
Reporter Sharri Markson posted photos on Instagram, depicting herself working at Sky News Canberra studios with a backdrop of the debated Channel Nine program running on screen.
41-year-old Sharri seemed unaware as a heated argument between Awhina Rutene and Adrian Araouzou, playing on the large screen behind her, unfolded in their apartment bedroom.
Fresh from detention and live on Sky News for budget discussion in Canberra, as per Sharri’s post description.
Sharri chose a complete red ensemble for her appearances, selecting a lengthy crimson skirt paired with a top and jacket of the same shade.
In one photo, she’s captured standing alongside popular radio personality Ross Greenwood, followed by another shot where she’s pictured with the AM Agenda’s presenter, Laura Jayes.

Sharri holds the position of Investigative Editor at The Australian newspaper and additionally hosts her own Sky News Australia program titled “Sharri,” which is broadcast every weekday evening between 8 and 9 pm.
She is also the winner of numerous awards in journalism, including two Walkley Awards.
After Treasury Secretary Jim Chalmers delivered the Federal Budget on Tuesday evening, the Albanese administration unveiled various commitments aimed at alleviating the living expenses burden for hard-pressed Australians.
In addition to these pledges, there are two planned tax reductions set to begin next year. These changes also include a $150 energy refund for individuals, as well as the cancellation of approximately $19 billion in outstanding student loans.
Those tax cuts have passed the House of Representatives and will go the Senate.
Australians are informed that approximately nine out of every ten trips to their General Practitioner (GP) will effectively be free, thanks to the government’s reform of Medicare. This is made possible by an investment of $7.9 billion in incentives for bulk billing.
Dr Chalmers has also committed to delivering a $793million women’s health package.

Reports from news.com.au suggest that a date for the upcoming election has allegedly been chosen by the Prime Minister, who is rumored to announce it as May 3. This information comes from sources within the Labor party.
Anthony Albanese could call the election as early as Friday.
Previously, the Prime Minister maintained a firm stance against revealing the exact election date, only stating that it would take place in May.
