Skye Wheatley in ‘so much stress’ over disaster renovation of luxury Gold Coast mansion: ‘We are in way over our heads’

On a tearful Sunday, Skye Wheatley expressed her frustration by posting about the progress of renovations at her grand Gold Coast estate.

The victor of I’m A Celebrity, aged 30, posted pictures of the opulent swimming pool under construction in her garden. She remarked that the tiling process has been problematic.

Posting multiple images, the social media influencer vented about feeling overwhelmed due to the renovation process, particularly as a result of unsightly tiles being put in around her pool area.

The question-and-answer session commenced as Skye initiated it through her Instagram Stories, engaging her followers on the unusual paving in her garden that she found quite peculiar.

She mentioned, “Our sidewalk seems covered in dirt or grime, which is unusual to me. When I questioned Lachy about it, he replied that it’s a normal occurrence, but I’ve never noticed it before.

Is there anyone knowledgeable who can tell us whether this situation is typical, or would it be advisable to have the tiles replaced again?

As I shared the captivating photo of my pool area under construction, I took a moment to highlight the less-than-perfect spots – the slightly discolored brown sections on the tile edges, ensuring my followers are privy to every step in this luxurious transformation process.

Afterward, she disclosed another perspective about the location, expressing: ‘The renovation is in fact leading to a great deal of stress, and every morning I wake up feeling exhausted, barely wanting to rise from my bed.’

We’re at the stage where we’re eager to part ways with this project. It’s colossal in scale and has become incredibly exhausting.

Initially, she was prepared to ignore the coloring on the tile since she was simply ‘joyful’ with the progress being made. However, she has now become ‘displeased’ about the issue itself.

I strive for perfection, yet my schedule is jam-packed with personal tasks, leaving me insufficient time to closely monitor and scrutinize every detail of the trades.

In such circumstances, it is indeed crucial to take the necessary actions. That’s exactly what project managers are for, as they oversee tasks on every assignment. Unfortunately, our project lacks a dedicated project manager, and that’s quite evident.

Skye mentioned that she intended to invite the tilers back to swap out the stained tiles since they had discarded many usable, clean ones unnecessarily.

Previously, renovations have led to conflicts for Skye, most notably when she and her partner Lachlan Waugh had a loud argument about it last July, shocking their fans.

At that moment, the influencer posted a surprising video on Instagram, showcasing Lachlan giving Skye a tour of the ongoing renovations in their newly acquired house.

In my latest guidance on creating stunning living spaces, I’ll be highlighting one of my favorite projects – where I carefully planned for skylights in select rooms to optimize sunlight exposure.

Lachlan recently purchased the windows and arranged the room on his own, which he’s quite pleased about. Upon seeing it, Skye couldn’t help but admit that his design was truly impressive.

Yet, Skye eventually took issue with certain aspects of Lachlan’s designs, specifically the inconsistency of having skylights in some rooms but not others, which left her curious about his reasoning behind this choice.

In this particular room, the skylight seems unnecessary given the lovely window we have. It would have been more suitable to install it in the walk-in wardrobe instead, Skye expressed, somewhat disappointed.

Gosh, I can’t believe it didn’t cross your mind! The skylights are placed in areas where they aren’t necessary, while there are no skylights where they would be useful instead.

Instead, Lachlan expressed disappointment when explaining to his partner that the chosen spots for the skylights were perfect, but unnecessary for the wardrobe.

He remarked, “This is just a dimly lit room, isn’t it? Aren’t most rooms like this at some point? Don’t worry too much about it. I suppose you’re concerned that the low light might interfere with your photographs, but it should be fine.

The skylights inside can cause your clothing to deteriorate more quickly. It’s not advisable to store things there; I wouldn’t recommend doing so.” (In this version, the second sentence is rephrased to express advice rather than a direct warning.)

‘Give the woman her skylight,’ a Skye fan added and a third person chipped in: ‘She’s correct.’

2014 saw Skye gaining widespread recognition through Big Brother Australia, and currently, she devotes her time to being an influential figure with approximately 661,000 followers on various platforms.

2023 saw Skye deciding to sell her $75,000 Mercedes to gather funds for the renovation of her lavish mansion located on the Gold Coast.

Previously known Big Brother celebrity, now an influencer, posted a picture of her white Mercedes on Instagram and invited potential buyers to reach out to her directly.
