Sky confirms cast for new Bristol and Jamaica-set thriller
As a seasoned viewer who’s seen my fair share of gripping dramas, I can confidently say that the cast assembled for “Inheritance” is nothing short of extraordinary! The fusion of talents from shows like “Loki,” “The Crown,” and “Doctor Who” promises an enthralling journey that will undoubtedly keep us on the edge of our seats.
Sky has confirmed the cast for Inheritance, a thriller set in both Bristol and Jamaica.
In the upcoming five-part miniseries, we’ll see Gugu Mbatha-Raw (known for her roles in “Loki” and “The Girl Before”), Jonny Lee Miller (“The Crown” and “Elementary”), Bel Powley (“A Small Light”), and Sheldon Shepherd (“Bob Marley: One Love”) joining the cast.
The show follows Mbatha-Raw’s ambitious young lawyer Claudia, who travels to Jamaica to deal with an inheritance claim battle between local resident Cudjoe East (Shepherd) and wealth white aristocrat Oliver Connaught (Lee-Miller).

The property under scrutiny is, in fact, a historical Connaught family plantation. As the probe progresses, more connections are uncovered between the brutal colonial past and the ongoing injustices of our modern society. The storyline hints at an “ambitious narrative that blurs genre boundaries.
Karla Crome, the writer and creator, expressed her deep sense of gratitude for collaborating with an exceptionally talented team, not just here but also in Jamaica.
I feel honored to witness Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Jonny Lee Miller, Sheldon Shepherd, and Bel Powley breathe life into my characters. Under the compelling guidance of Storm Saulter, it promises to be an incredible production. I’m eager to unveil our efforts to audiences.
Meghan Lyvers, Executive Director of Original Scripted at Sky UK and Ireland, expressed: “We’re honored to assist Karla Crome and the Snowed In crew in delivering this daring, unique, and thought-provoking tale to viewers.

As production is about to start, we’re excited to kick off this adventure with a remarkable creative group and a talented cast!
Additionally, we have verified the participation of actors such as Nadean Rawlins, Sean Gilder, Olunike Adeliyi, Richard Dillane, Diveen Henry, Jack Bandiera, and Shantol Jackson for this production.
In other locations, Mbatha-Raw is currently shooting the upcoming “Doctor Who” spinoff titled “The War Between the Land and the Sea.” Notable actors from “Who” and “Torchwood” are reprising their roles, while franchise head Russell T Davies hints at an abundance of excitement and peril.
