Skeleton Crew episode 3 "Very Interesting, As An Astrogration Problem" ending explained

As a long-time Star Wars enthusiast with a soft spot for character-driven narratives, I find myself utterly captivated by the third episode of Skeleton Crew. The intrigue surrounding At Attin and its hidden treasures is reminiscent of the classic tales that have enthralled us since A New Hope.

In “Skeleton Crew” Episode 3, titled “A Puzzling Astrogration Dilemma,” further secrets about At Attin were revealed, intriguing not only the young characters but also their parents who began to question the truth. To summarize the ending of the episode:

Skeleton Crew Season 1 Episode 3, “Very Interesting, As An Astrogration Problem” Ending Explained

Following their release from prison, Jod Na Nawood leads the children to a hidden moon to encounter his acquaintance, an owl woman named Kh’ymm. Yet, before the Republic even arrives, Kh’ymm alerts them that “Crimson Jack” is residing at her place. She consents to delay the Republic as long as she can, given the circumstances.

Kh’ymm proves to be insightful, sharing with the group her understanding about the enigma surrounding their home planet At Attin. It was among nine planets regarded as the Jewels of the Old Republic, unique and rich in undiscovered riches. Remarkably, it’s the only one still intact. Perhaps it was skillfully concealed, considering that the children are unaware of cosmic events such as the Galactic Civil War and Alderaan’s destruction from the movie “A New Hope”. Kh’ymm demonstrates her ability to pinpoint their world’s location.

In this scene, it becomes clear that Jod is hesitating, and just as she does so, the New Republic arrives in X-wings. She grabs a datachip containing what could be At Attin’s coordinates, damages Kh’ymm’s computer, and quickly exits with most of the children, leaving KB behind. The episode largely revolves around these children, who are divided on whether or not they truly believe Jod. KB informs Kh’ymm that she doesn’t trust Jod, to which Kh’ymm suggests that if the children ever need assistance, they can contact the wise owl woman. Subsequently, KB decides to join her friends.

Upon returning to their vessel, the children coerced Jod into confessing he wasn’t a Jedi. Admitting his own disorientation like them, he consented to aid them in their journey home. Following an intense starship duel, they managed to flee from the New Republic.

Skeleton Crew’s mysteries around At Attin deepen

On Planet Attin, there have been some recent updates concerning the children’s families. Notably, KB’s mothers express concern as they believe she’s in trouble. The young girl has a health issue that could significantly impact future events. Meanwhile, Fern’s mother, Fara, who holds a low-ranking government position, warns the group that the Security Droids will be tracking down the children.

Yet, when the enigmatic Supervisor dispatches a Security Robot, it declares they won’t search for the children since they had trespassed by venturing beyond the boundary encircling the planet. Consequently, the parents, with good reason, become agitated towards the robot. In response, Wim’s father, Wendle, retreats, clasps his head, and exhibits profound concern over the whereabouts of his son, Wim.
