As a seasoned actor with two decades under my belt, I can certainly empathize with Aaron Taylor-Johnson’s stance on the Bond role. With a career that spans from indie darlings to blockbuster franchises, I understand his desire for creative freedom and authenticity in his roles.

It’s rumored that Sir Steve McQueen could potentially take on a new role associated with the legendary secret agent, James Bond.

Reportedly, the director of “12 Years a Slave,” who is currently 55 years old, has piqued the attention of James Bond producers, as suggested by The Sun.

With a highly respected career in filmmaking, it’s expected that producers would welcome him contributing his film production skills to future projects.

A source shared with the team that ‘Steve is among the top UK filmmakers, boasting a remarkable creative perspective.’

Reports indicate that the Bond producers inquired about the possibility of Steve participating in one of the films, and they received a favorable reply.

‘It would be incredible if it came off.’

There are rumors circulating again that the search for the next James Bond, previously portrayed by Daniel Craig, has resumed as well.

However, the identity of the person taking on this role remains uncertain, and it has stirred up a significant amount of debate among celebrities in the past few months.

One well-known figure, Idris Elba, faced a flurry of gossip, but he dismissed speculations about taking on a certain role earlier in the year.

51-year-old actor from Luther has shared that he won’t take on the role of James Bond in the upcoming 007 film, and also clarified that he won’t be receiving a License to Kill.

He admitted that he is ‘ancient’ and while he appreciated the compliment of being considered back in 2009, the opportunity is now ‘dead’.

During an appearance on Chris Moyles’ Radio X morning show in April, Idris playfully commented that speculations about his role as a Bond agent have given him more renown for “not having played Bond” than some actors who actually portrayed the character.

Chris jokingly asked: “Weren’t there numerous whispers circulating some years back concerning your connection with the iconic British spy character, James Bond? Was that a real possibility at any point? Did it almost happen? Were you interested in it? I’ve heard rumors, but I’m unsure if you ever addressed them directly.

Idris stated: “I’ve answered this question hundreds of thousands of times. Yes, indeed, it was a very widespread rumor.

‘I’m arguably more famous for not playing Bond than some of the actors who did!

Additionally, there have been instances where I didn’t fully appreciate the gravity of it. Frankly, everyone adores Bond; he’s such an amazing character. To be thought of in that light years ago was nothing short of a compliment for me.

Chris insisted, “Perhaps we should consider it’s not over,” but his statement was countered by the captivating performer who retorted, “To be honest, it’s indeed finished. The speculation about its survival has ceased.

‘And I mean, I’m ancient now. I don’t know what kind of Bond I’d be.’

The radio host replied: ‘But there’s always… Yeah, you’re probably right, actually.’

Instead of giving up the idea that Idris might be part of the eagerly awaited film, Chris suggested another possibility: “Perhaps as a Bond villain?

In a candid manner, Idris admitted that he was the one who starred in the Luther movie. When considering the movie adaptation versus a TV series, his inclination leans towards making it more grandiose. He suggests larger landscapes and potentially filling that gap.

It followed chatter over who will be the next man to take on the iconic role.

It has been speculated that Aaron Taylor-Johnson might soon acquire a license to play James Bond in four upcoming films, following extensive negotiations with film executives. These sources suggest that they hope he could succeed Daniel Craig as the face of the franchise, guiding it into a novel era with a touch of fantasy.

Reports suggest that the 33-year-old British actor is being officially given the opportunity to portray James Bond. It’s said that producers have gone to great extremes to make sure he accepts.

According to sources close to the production, producer Barbara Broccoli, aged 63, seems to be focusing solely on actor Aaron at this point, as it’s been reported that fitting sessions for his costumes have apparently begun.

Focusing on the intricacies, agents and attorneys are diligently sorting through the bureaucratic requirements, as well as considering how many film projects Aaron may be involved with.

‘It is currently looking to be a three-picture deal with the option of a fourth.

They’ve completed all necessary installations, achieved the desired hairstyle for him, and he’s already in excellent physical condition.

Barbara Broccoli and her fellow producers are planning to create quite a spectacle with their upcoming announcement.

This year, there have been reports suggesting that the actor known for Kick Ass might soon sign an agreement to replace Daniel Craig as the main character in the spy series. This is following Craig’s retirement from the role after his final appearance in the 2021 blockbuster No Time To Die.

Previously, Aaron seemed evasive regarding the rumors, stating to Numero magazine earlier this month: “I think it’s adorable and amazing that people envision me in that part. I consider it a tremendous compliment.

A recent survey indicates that Idris Elba remains the preferred pick among the public as Daniel Craig’s successor for the role of James Bond, despite being 51 years old, which is considered advanced for a potential Bond actor, and having previously declared his intention to concentrate on his crime series Luther instead.

In August 2022, news emerged that he ended longstanding negotiations with film executives to assume the iconic character instead.

Last summer, Idris openly shared that he had once felt incredibly flattered by the notion of portraying Bond, describing it as the peak or zenith.

As a committed supporter, I expressed my dismay to Variety, as the situation turned sour when those who opposed the concept tainted it with negativity, making it repellent and unappealing. Regrettably, it escalated into a race-centric debate, devolving into senseless chatter that unfortunately fell upon me.

Additionally, Michael Fassbender has expressed his unwillingness for the role, stating that a more youthful actor would be more suitable.

When asked by GQ magazine if he would be up for the part, the actor, 46, said: ‘To be honest, no.’

Although Aaron hasn’t publicly confirmed or commented on his involvement yet, he previously expressed during an interview with Rolling Stone UK in March that he has no intentions of being tied to the Hollywood “pop culture studio film” system.

In a photo session for publicity ahead of his upcoming Marvel movie from Sony, titled Kraven the Hunter, Aaron reflects thoughtfully about the trajectory of his illustrious acting journey that spans over two decades in the film industry.

Inquired specifically about rumors of him discussing the role of Bond, the actor tactfully responded by saying “I can primarily discuss what I will exhibit and disclose,” followed by a suggestive comment: “You’ll have to wait and see.

“I prefer not to have my future mapped out for me in advance. Instead, I believe that whatever life has in store for me, I have the ability and determination to surpass it.

Despite not getting the role of Bond, Aaron has instead landed the leading part in a high-budget action series.

However, the actor maintains that he can uncover the subtle dimensions of any role, including Kraven – a relentless big-game hunter who aspires to outmatch Spider-Man above all else.

He firmly believes that this particular character possessed a unique quality and a relatable depth. Furthermore, he expresses his frustration with the current trend in studio films and popular culture, stating, “We’ve grown tired of the same factory-produced movies that seem to water down the desire to go to the cinema.

I wouldn’t have agreed to it unless I truly believed that there was an opportunity to breathe life into this character.

The star adds that the extreme physical transformation he undertook to play the Marvel villain made him ponder if he wanted to put himself through it for film after film, explaining: ‘I wanted to approach it like an actor, and I’m not someone who’s just juicing up and going to the gym.’

I’m not strictly committed to my brand revolving around action movies, but through rigorous training, I transformed into a formidable 200-pound muscular figure. My diet was immense and varied.

James Bond producers have still not made a formal announcement to confirm who will be the next 007.
