Sir Rod Stewart, 80, wraps up warm as he watches his beloved Celtic play Feyenoord with son Alastair, 19, in the Netherlands

Rod Stewart bundled up against the cold to cheer on his favorite team, Celtic, as they won 3-1 against Feyenoord in the Netherlands on Thursday.

I was so thrilled to see Rod Stewart on stage! At 80, he’s still got it! And it was extra special because his son, Alastair, who’s only 19 and shares a close bond with Rod and his wife Penny, was right there with him. It’s wonderful to see their family connection shine through.

A father and son, both big fans of football, seemed very happy and enthusiastic while supporting their favorite team, Celtic.

Sir Rod Stewart and his son are frequent attendees at Celtic football matches, and he’s spoken of his son as being his closest companion.

Rod and Penny also share son Aiden, 14, who wasn’t in attendance at the game.

Penny recently posted a lovely picture of Rod with her sons, who got to meet him behind the scenes at his concert in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Penny, Rod’s wife and mother of Alastair and Aiden, affectionately referred to her sons as ‘my boys,’ highlighting the close relationship they share.

In the photo, Rod appeared comfortable wearing an open, blue and white striped shirt. Alastair complemented his look with a low-cut black shirt and checkered pants.

I always love seeing families support each other, and Alastair recently shared a sweet moment doing just that! He posted a photo alongside a video of his dad performing on stage, and simply added a red heart emoji – such a lovely, heartfelt gesture!

While visiting Buenos Aires, Rod was made a Guest of Honour after performing three concerts that were completely sold out.

The songwriter, performing to crowds of 15,000 each night at the Movistar Arena, was honored with a certificate at a ceremony held in the Eva Perán Hall of the Parliamentary Assembly.

While at the ceremony, Rod received an Argentina football jersey with his name on the back.

He expressed his surprise and gratitude, saying he’d never received such an award before and thanked everyone sincerely.

‘This is the country with the best soccer players in the world and the best fans of all.’

Oh my gosh, it was amazing! The main person in charge actually said it was a total honor – for them, but also for everyone who was there – to be able to give this incredible award, making this person our Guest of Honour. I was practically squealing!

Buenos Aires is a vibrant cultural center for Latin America and the world, and it’s a great honor to be recognized within such a city.

We are deeply grateful from the heart of Buenos Aires, a city known for its passion for soccer and now, the music of Rod Stewart. This honor isn’t just for us, but for every citizen of this democratic city.

Rod recently performed in the city as part of his farewell tour, One Last Time. He’s currently continuing the tour in Germany and will soon travel to Switzerland, Austria, the United Arab Emirates, and North America.

Rod has eight children over 47 years by five different mothers.

Rod Stewart has four daughters: Sarah, 61, with Susannah Boffey; Kimberly, 45, with Alana Stewart; Ruby, 37, with Kelly Emberg; and Renee, 33, with Rachel Hunter.

He is also father to sons Sean, 44, with Alana Stewart and Liam, 30, whose mother is Rachel Hunter.
