As a lifestyle expert with a penchant for iconic figures and a deep appreciation for the evolution of music, I am thrilled to witness the creation of Sir Elton John’s brand-new waxwork at Madame Tussauds in London. With over four decades of unparalleled performances under his belt, this tribute is well deserved and promises to be an extraordinary addition to the museum’s collection.

As a devoted admirer and follower, I’m thrilled to share that it’s me, Elton John, who will be receiving a fresh wax figure at Madame Tussauds in London. This tribute is a testament to the extraordinary 50-year journey of my career.

The first-of-its-kind statue depicts the renowned figure at the age of 77, with his legs elevated and hands on a keyboard.

The museum announced that the waxwork is one of the most intricate structure designs ever made so far, and they’ve shared photos taken backstage showing the statue being built.

Steve Blackburn, the manager at Madame Tussauds London, mentioned that Sir Elton John has consistently motivated them to exceed expectations in their sculptures ever since he posed for his initial figure back in 1976.

Mr. Blackburn stated: “From the start of Sir Elton John’s remarkable career, we’ve been sculpting figures of him, and his creativity has consistently pushed us to exceed expectations in our work.

In the 1970s, he introduced our very first speaking figure, and by 2024, we aim to make a grand comeback.

The distinctive, seemingly weightless stance of this figure encapsulates the spirit of Elton’s renowned early shows in a manner that is uniquely achievable by Madame Tussauds London.

This upcoming design is set to be the most intricate structure we’ve ever created, based on our long-standing tradition that spans hundreds of years. It promises to leave quite an impression when we finally reveal it towards the end of this year.

The life-sized statue of Sir Elton will be showcased at the upcoming Impossible Festival Exhibition in the attraction, where you’ll find wax figurines of musicians spanning different eras.

The roster features various figures representing David Bowie in his Ziggy Stardust era, Beyoncé, Ed Sheeran, Ariana Grande, the iconic Amy Winehouse, and the lead singer of Queen, Freddie Mercury.

It comes after his new documentary titled Elton John: Never Too Late was released on Tuesday.

The Disney+ film, both documentary and musical, directed by RJ Cutler and Elton John’s spouse, David Furnish, delves into the remarkable journey of Sir Elton during the initial phase of his five-decade-long career.

This movie offers unique, previously unseen material such as glimpses into Sir Elton’s personal handwritten journals, excerpts from the groundbreaking Rolling Stone interview recorded on tapes, and a remarkable moment where John Lennon joined him for three songs following his Thanksgiving 1974 concert at Madison Square Garden.

In the lead-up to his last North American performance at Dodger Stadium, Elton John reminisces about his past, sharing the remarkable peaks and painful valleys of his youth, as well as his journey through hardship, abuse, and substance abuse, ultimately emerging victorious.

The movie, jointly made by Rocket Entertainment and This Machine Filmworks, will also include an exclusive, fresh composition by the music icon himself.

2023 saw the retirement of Sir Elton from live performances, after concluding his Farewell Yellow Brick Road tour. This tour earned an impressive $939.1 million across 328 shows, placing it as the second highest-grossing tour in history according to Billboard’s records.

The tour also saw him become the most-watched Glastonbury headliner of all time, with more than 120,000 fans packed out Worthy Farm’s Pyramid Stage and over 7million people watching from home.

According to the BBC, this was the largest overnight viewership ever recorded for a Glastonbury performance, and during that show, the broadcaster accounted for almost half of all television viewers.

During the program, a high viewership of approximately 7.6 million individuals was reached for a span of five minutes, as stated by the corporation.

‘Oh wow. I never thought I’d ever play Glastonbury. And here I am,’ Sir Elton told the crowd.

This evening holds a unique and heartfelt significance for me, as it could potentially mark the end of my performances in England and all of Great Britain.
