Sir David Beckham admits it’s been an ’emotional day’ as he receives knighthood amid reports his eldest son Brooklyn ‘did not reach out to congratulate him’

Fifty-year-old former footballer received a knighthood from King Charles at Windsor Castle in recognition of his contributions to both sports and charitable work.

His wife, Lady Victoria, age 51, and his parents, Ted and Sandra, looked on as he bowed before the monarch. The king then lightly touched his shoulders with the sword.

David’s three younger children – Romeo, Cruz, and Harper – joined in the celebration honoring their father. His eldest son, Brooklyn, was not present.

Sources say the 26-year-old chef never congratulated his father on finally achieving his lifelong dream.

Brooklyn was busy promoting his hot sauce brand at the same time David received his knighthood.

Brooklyn appeared to be entirely dedicated to promoting his Cloud23 hot sauce and avoided discussing his family.

According to The Sun, Brooklyn hasn’t spoken to his father recently due to a difficult family disagreement.

David described his busy day as deeply emotional, saying it brought him to tears.

Today was a really emotional day – actually, more emotional than stressful. There were some tears, but overall it was a very special and something our whole family can be proud of.

He shared that having his parents and wife present to celebrate with his children made the day incredibly emotional.

It’s a great honor to be recognized by His Majesty the King, a man known for his grace and representing a truly esteemed and influential institution.

Brooklyn’s parents recently suggested they might be open to reconnecting with him, mentioning how well he cooks.

Even though Victoria and David aren’t on good terms, they still quietly support their son. They recently showed their support by ‘liking’ his new Instagram video where he made buttermilk pancakes for his followers.

In February 2017, he publicly criticized the honors committee after they removed his name from consideration for an award, effectively ending his chances of receiving one.

Despite everything else, Beckham has remained dedicated to his charitable efforts. In June, The Daily Mail reported that he was nominated for an award by Unicef – an organization he’s supported for over two decades – and the British Fashion Council.

According to sources, both organizations informally asked people what they thought about nominating Beckham, and the response was overwhelmingly positive.
