Film director Ryan Coogler is currently developing a new version of “The X-Files,” following the release of his latest film. Coogler provided a hopeful update about the “X-Files” reboot recently.
As a devoted movie enthusiast, I recently had the pleasure of hearing Ryan Coogler discuss his latest venture – reimagining the iconic “X-Files” series during an engaging chat on “Last Podcast on the Left.” With his work on “Sinners” now behind him, this thrilling franchise has become Coogler’s top priority. Although a concrete release date hasn’t been set just yet, it seems that production is poised to begin soon. This latest update about the project offers the most promising glimpse we’ve had in quite some time, as information regarding Coogler’s “X-Files” has remained scarce since its initial announcement.
Ryan Coogler shared that he’s currently focused on “The X-Files”. What’s coming up next for him is this project, which he’s been eager to return to for quite some time. He’s really looking forward to getting back to it, and if we do our work well, some of the episodes might turn out to be genuinely terrifying.
There’s a possibility that the upcoming series could link back to the classic X-Files TV show, which featured Gillian Anderson as a main character. Although neither actor has been officially announced yet, director Ryan Coogler has mentioned that he has spoken with Anderson about potentially reprising her role as Scully. At this stage, nothing is definitive, but Coogler’s comments suggest that Anderson might be willing to come back for the new series.
Coogler stated that he had talked to Gillian, who is amazing. He’s hoping it works out. He’s excited to meet her because she’s in Tron [Ares]. He recently watched a trailer for it and learned that she was wrapping up filming at the time of their conversation. However, they plan to create something truly exceptional, appealing not only to longtime X-Files fans but potentially attracting new ones as well.
Will David Duchovny Return as Fox Mulder?
As a dedicated fan, I can’t help but feel a spark of excitement hearing that David Duchovny is open to reprising his role for Ryan Coogler’s reboot of The X-Files. Although the actor may not dwell much on The X-Files these days, he’s surely intrigued about Fox’s current state. He’s made it clear that the decision to bring him back rests with the team behind The X-Files.

Instead of waking up and asking about the stock of “The X-Files,” Duchovny admitted that he cherishes the show. He expressed curiosity about what his character might be like now, acknowledging it as an intriguing query. He added that the show has the potential to reflect current times just as effectively as it did during the ’90s, and that it’s up to Chris Carter or other writers to decide. Essentially, he’s always eager to see what they come up with.
Sinners is now playing in movie theaters.
