Singer Adriana Araujo dies from brain aneurysm aged 49 just six years after finding fame through her inspiring performances during Covid lockdown

Singer Adriana Araujo passed away at age 49 from a brain aneurysm. She first became well-known just six years ago, during the Covid-19 pandemic.

The famous samba dancer suffered a severe brain bleed at her home in Brazil on Saturday and was immediately taken to the hospital.

She was still unconscious in the intensive care unit, and doctors said her condition was very severe and wouldn’t improve.

Sadly, Adriana passed away at the Odilon Behrens Metropolitan Hospital in Belo Horizonte on Monday.

The singer is survived by her son Daniel and her husband Evaldo Araújo.

Adriana was a well-known and influential figure in Brazilian samba, with a large following of over 70,000 people on Instagram.

The woman, a mother to one child, was raised in the Pedreira Prado Lopes favelas and demonstrated a love for music from a young age.

She launched her career by taking free dance and acting classes in her community and learning to sing. She began performing with her husband in a group called Simplicidade Samba.

She started her career as a solo artist in 2020 and rapidly gained a dedicated fanbase thanks to her amazing singing and engaging performances.

Adriana gained a lot of followers online when she started performing concerts from her rooftop during lockdown. She shared these shows live online so anyone could watch.

She performed alongside several other talented Brazilian musicians and samba legends, such as Leci Brandão, Fabiana Cozza, Arlindinho, and Jorge Aragão.

Following the sad passing of Adriana Araújo, her colleagues shared a statement saying they were heartbroken to say goodbye.

Adriana wasn’t just a fantastic samba singer; she was warm, kind, and radiated happiness. She had a way of brightening the lives of those around her with her easygoing nature and generous spirit.
