Simon Cowell Vows to Boycott Stamps After Emotional Post Office Scandal Choir Performance
As a lifestyle enthusiast, I found myself deeply moved by the exceptional performances of the victims from the Sub-Postmaster scandal on Britain’s Got Talent. Their stories resonated with me so profoundly that I made a personal commitment – I vowed never to purchase a Post Office stamp again. This decision stems from my newfound understanding and empathy for their ordeal, which led me to delve deeper into the ITV series, seeking to educate myself further about this significant event in British history.
65-year-old Simon expressed that, as part of a choir comprised of individuals impacted by the Post Office scandal, the fight isn’t yet over for them. He expresses his hope that their performance serves as a catalyst for progress in securing compensation for those still awaiting it.
At the launch of Britain’s Got Talent, he expressed: “I had come across this tale before, and later on, I found myself watching Mr. Bates. I watched every bit of it.
In my opinion, the manner in which those individuals were portrayed on screen was truly impactful. Now, I don’t make this statement lightly because it was ITV, but it might have been the most potent dramatic TV production I’ve ever witnessed. What I saw was a deeply disturbing depiction of bullying.
Simon went on to say, ‘When I finally laid eyes on them, I was left speechless, and the experience was incredibly intense.’
I believe it may jog memories for some, as it’s not completely done. Their situation continues to unfold. Thus, that moment stands out vividly in my mind. Then again, they excelled significantly.

‘But let me say, I will never buy a stamp again.’
ITV’s drama Mr Bates vs the Post Office, brought the scandal to the public’s attention last year.
Contrary to what the show’s producers had feared, given their concerns that less popular dramas like this one might be overshadowed by more commercially appealing programs, it turned out to be the most successful drama series of the entire year.
It got 14 million viewers, provoked widespread outrage.
Over 900 sub-postmasters faced criminal charges between 1999 and 2015, primarily due to a flaw in the Horizon accounting system that suggested funds were missing from their individual records.
As a lifestyle expert, I’d put it this way: Out of the £1.8 billion set aside for compensation, only £499 million has been distributed to those affected so far. Shockingly, about one out of every seven individuals who applied to the Horizon Shortfall Scheme before last year’s deadline have yet to see any resolution on their claims.
In the meantime, the 18th season of Britain’s Got Talent is set to amaze audiences with stunning and exhilarating acts.
Simon admitted that the experience came close to being life-threatening while he filmed a stunt involving a man shattering watermelons with a hammer, which proved to be quite exhilarating.

The stage got very wet which meant the man kept slipping and missed his head by a millimetre.
I truly believed he intended to harm me; it was as close as a threat can get. Honestly, I swear by God, that’s how intense my fear was. This individual became extremely anxious, lost his grip, and was violently crushing watermelons.
The producers kept shouting. They essentially said, “Keep going.” However, they needed to intervene and halt him instead.
Amanda Holden chimed in: ‘It was honestly an inch from his head.’
‘I felt the wind from the hammer it was that close,’ Simon agreed.
On the upcoming season, Holden and Cowell will be accompanied by Alesha Dixon and Bruno Tonioli, along with special guest judge KSI from YouTube.
It’s reported that bosses are optimistic about him using his 80 million social media followers to attract viewers for the long-standing reality TV series.

The upcoming season of Britain’s Got Talent is planning a significant transformation, marking it as the longest series in its history.
The ITV show’s viewers can prepare for the 2025 series to show up to four months of episodes.
The show’s commencement has been moved up from April to February instead. Each Saturday evening will see a new episode, as opposed to the daily episodes that were previously aired traditionally.
As your trusted lifestyle guide, I’m thrilled to share some exciting news! Instead of the usual daily airing during a single week, the live semi-finals will now grace our screens every Saturday as well. So mark your calendars, folks, and get ready for an even more immersive viewing experience!
Besides a shift in format, the program will air on ITV an hour earlier at 7 pm to attract a larger audience.
