Simon Cowell lends his judging talents and VERY cutting comments in new Domino’s advert as he tells staff their pizzas are ‘terrible’
As a lifestyle expert with years of observing and analyzing popular culture, I must say that Simon Cowell‘s latest venture as ‘quality captain’ for Domino’s is nothing short of genius! Having honed his critical eye and sharp tongue over decades in the entertainment industry, it’s clear that he brings that same passion for perfection to the pizza world.
As a longtime viewer of reality TV shows and a connoisseur of pizza (having spent countless hours watching cooking shows and consuming pizzas from various establishments), I must admit that I was quite intrigued when I heard the news that Simon Cowell, the infamous judge known for his blunt critiques, had lent his critical eye to Domino’s Pizza in their latest advertisements.
As a die-hard admirer, I find myself stepping into a fresh judging role, critiquing pizzas this time around, as Britain’s Got Talent’s esteemed judge, aged 64, now dons the cap of ‘Quality Captain’ for Domino’s in their latest commercial campaign.
These clips contain several iconic expressions that Simon became known for during his tenure on X Factor and American Idol.
In the advertisement, the music magnate underscores his pursuit of excellence by critiquing the early work of his team as being “awful” and “unimpressive”.
In one of the videos, you’ll hear a voiceover stating that at Domino’s, we have high-quality team leaders who strive for excellence.

After that, Simon asks three workers to try and impress him, but unfortunately, the initial pizzas they make aren’t satisfactory.
He tells them: ‘Terrible, pathetic, I hate it.’
Yet, certain pizzas capture the enthusiasm of the TV personality, causing a huddle of workers to resemble contestants on a talent show. He expresses his approval with a resounding, ‘It’s a go!’ or simply, ‘Yes, it works!’
At the end, one customer is surprised by the familiar face behind the register.
Following Simon delivering my scrumptious pizza, I can hardly contain my excitement as I pick up the phone and exclaim to my buddy, “Can you believe it? It’s me, your friendly neighborhood Domino’s employee!”
The next 30-second ad is similar and emphasises the importance of placing toppings correctly.
Simon tells one employee during the opening: ‘Topping distribution: horrible.’
‘That’s a million percent no,’ he tells another employee, who replies, ‘Noted.’

By the conclusion of his evaluation period, Simon was pleased and expressed agreement, saying with a smile, “Absolutely, yes!” regarding the employees’ performance.
The pizza chain opted for collaboration because Domino’s SVP, Kate Trumbull, said Simon emphasizes excellence in all aspects, which he confirmed.)
He said in a statement: ‘Domino’s demands greatness. They know exactly what it means to deliver the perfect pizza. Domino’s is a definite yes from me.’
