Simon Cowell baffles fans with his ‘awkward’ clapping as he graces the iconic ‘spirit tunnel’ on the Jennifer Hudson Show

Simon Cowell surprised viewers with his unusual clapping when he appeared on The Jennifer Hudson Show on Monday.

The 65-year-old music executive seemed happy and relaxed as he walked through the show’s famous ‘spirit tunnel’ on his way into the studio.

As the crew sang a song for Simon, set to the tune of ‘The Greatest Showman,’ the America’s Got Talent judge happily clapped along with them.

Simon reached the end of the corridor and joked, ‘Can I do that again’ before walking on set.

The BGT star sat down with host Jennifer, who asked, ‘Did you enjoy the spirit tunnel Simon?’

He said he absolutely loved the idea and thought it was the best way to be introduced on a show. He jokingly asked if he could use it for America’s Got Talent.

‘We will do it for you on it, if you want’, Jennifer insisted.

Simon enthusiastically said he was eager to make it work and jokingly added that he’d even consider doing it again, perhaps on the return trip.

After the talk show posted the amusing video on X, previously known as Twitter, viewers playfully commented on Simon’s unusual clapping style.

Someone discovered a new and unusual clapping style! People are reacting with amusement, questioning the strange arm movements that happen after the clap, and jokingly comparing them to a kangaroo’s arms.

It’s strange how he’s clapping and then curling his fingers in. Simon, blink twice if you’re okay and need assistance! This came across a bit awkwardly, so feel free to remove it. What was going on with his hand while he was clapping?

Simon arrived at the America’s Got Talent set in Pasadena, California earlier this month, prepared with all his workout gear.

The actor, known for doing 100 push-ups daily to stay in shape, looked relaxed and comfortable in his workout clothes.

He showed off his physique in a fitted dark grey T-shirt and paired it with loose-fitting, cut-off shorts.

After a serious electric bike accident near his Malibu home in 2020 left him with a broken back, Simon completely changed his lifestyle. He now consistently gets regular sleep and exercise, and has lost over 20 pounds.

He’s mentioned before that he works out both at home and in his office.

Simon used to have a unique workout routine. He’d start his day with 100 push-ups before taking a bath, and then he’d often do more whenever he had a moment alone at work, like after a meeting.

He gripped his Perfect Push-up handles, designed to reduce strain on the wrists and elbows, boost muscle engagement, and help him get the most out of his push-ups.

Simon smiled and took a moment to say hello to the fans who had been waiting outside the studio in the sunshine.

He’s openly talked about losing three stone and admitted he sometimes prefers a simple meal like beans on toast to going out to restaurants.

The America’s Got Talent judge clarified that he didn’t have weight loss surgery, explaining his slimmer physique is the result of a significant change in diet and a complete revamp of his eating habits.

Simon explained that a doctor told him his diet was extremely unhealthy – the worst the doctor had ever encountered. To improve, Simon completely changed his eating habits, eliminating pies, red meat, and gluten.

In an interview with The Sun, Simon denied having gastric band surgery, pointing out that such a procedure would leave scars.

The celebrity revealed he consulted a Harley Street doctor about a specific diet plan.

After getting blood work and a urine test, I received the results a month later. The doctor told me I had the worst diet he’d ever seen, comparing it to what a schoolchild might have eaten in the 1960s.

He found out I was eating pie, so he gave me a list of foods I needed to avoid – things like red meat, dairy, sugar, and gluten. I mostly followed it, though.

Simon shared that he usually doesn’t order much food when he goes out to eat, claiming he doesn’t have a large appetite.
