Silo showrunner teases the first two episodes of season 2
As a die-hard fan of post-apocalyptic dramas and someone who has spent countless hours buried in books about dystopian societies, I can’t help but feel a surge of excitement as Silo season 2 approaches. The cliffhanger at the end of season 1 left me yearning for more, and it seems like Apple TV+ is delivering just that.
In no time at all, you’ll be able to enjoy the second season of “Silo”! To prepare yourself, it might be useful to gather some insights on what to anticipate.
Readers familiar with “Wool,” the initial novel in the Silo trilogy, are aware that Apple TV+’s series concluded season 1 before finishing the book. The remainder of “Wool” unfolds the tale of Juliette following her assignment to go outside and clean.
So, are you saying that the entirety of Season 2 will focus solely on Juliette? However, the return of the main cast suggests otherwise. We can expect to revisit some storylines from Silo 18 as well.
What to know about the first two episodes of Silo season 2
Based on information from showrunner Graham Yost, who spoke with TVLine, approximately half of the time in the series will be spent inside Silo 18 and with Juliette. The storyline for Silo 18 has some basis in the books, indicating that the show may be merging plotlines from multiple books. This isn’t surprising, as I had anticipated this blend to happen.
In the opening episode, the focus will be on Juliette’s experiences. We’ll discover what she observes beyond her current location. By the end of season 2, it has been established that other shelters exist and the world is a desolate wasteland. As her air supply is limited within her suit, Juliette must locate someone willing to offer her sanctuary.
In the upcoming second episode, I’ll join you all back at Silo 18. At the end of season one, I couldn’t help but feel a sense of unease when I witnessed Juliette clear the hill. This is quite unexpected, considering she was the first to pass the tree, and Bernard, known for his composure, showed signs of panic. It seems he harbors more knowledge about the world outside than he’s letting on. We left him entering a room that no one else can access and warning someone about Juliette’s escape. Now, I’m eager to see where this leads for Bernard and the others in the silo. Will they begin to rise up against the established order? The tension is building!
In essence, this narrative style mirrors the approach taken by “Snowpiercer” in its opening episodes of Season 4. This method allows us to zero in on a specific plot thread, providing essential background information before diving headlong into the next major conflict.
