Silent Witness’ Emilia Fox teases Jack and Nikki wedding details
Actress Emilia Fox, who plays Dr. Nikki Alexander in “Silent Witness“, has hinted at some intriguing aspects of her character’s upcoming marriage to her screen husband, Jack Hodgson.
In the 27th season of the popular BBC One crime series, Jack took a ring from an evidence bag and asked Nikki to marry him, which she happily agreed to.
On today’s (January 13) broadcast of The One Show, hosted by Vernon Kay and Alex Jones, Fox shared some behind-the-scenes details about the upcoming season 28 of their crime series, which has been airing every week on BBC.
It was inquired whether a “Silent Witness” wedding was imminent, to which Fox replied that the upcoming episodes would feature Nikki and Jack trying to organize their wedding, a task that proves challenging for Nikki.
Fox remarked: “Indeed, it has been simmering for quite some time, hasn’t it? The development of their friendship, their coming together, and exploring if they can work harmoniously and share love. We aimed to depict a strong and healthy relationship on-screen, and now there’s this commitment that has been solidified.
In this series, Jack is seen meticulously planning the ideal wedding, while Nikki appears overwhelmed by the multitude of tasks involved in organizing a marriage, leaving her clueless about where to start.
Afterward, Kit and Harriet watch over their relationship dynamics and offer their thoughts. We’ll observe how things unfold based on their suggestions.
At the wedding reception, the hosts playfully suggested that the marquee might be constructed using crime scene tents. In response, Fox humorously pointed out that the white attire she typically wears as a forensic pathologist could also serve as her character’s wedding gown.
Simultaneously, joining Fox on the sofa, was Francesca Mills, a fresh face in the series who portrays crime analyst Kit Brooks. She shared that she managed to maintain the secret about landing the role from her mother until she had a screen test with Millie [Emilia] and David.
Silent Witness season 28 airs weekly on BBC Mondays and Tuesdays at 9pm.
