Silent Hill f Confirmed for Xbox Series X|S in Eerie New Trailer

In a recent development, Konami has unveiled a new trailer for the upcoming installment of the Silent Hill franchise, which has been in hibernation. This latest entry, titled Silent Hill f, is set in 1960s Japan and offers a glimpse into its chilling, haunting environment. Moreover, it has been confirmed that the game will be available on Xbox Series X|S.

Similar to numerous games within the Silent Hill series, the secluded mountain town of Ebisugaoka in Silent Hill f is filled with a lot of misty fog. In this game, you assume the role of teenager Shimizu Hinako. The experience offers a blend of horror and psychological suspense, along with an “indelible” storyline written by the renowned Ryukishi07.

In “Silent Hill f”, Ebisugaoka is enveloped in dense fog, turning the town into a haunting, terrifying landscape filled with sinister secrets lurking within the eerie mist. Hinako must journey through remnants of her past that manifest spectrally, solve puzzles, and confront horrific creatures to stay alive.

In a challenging situation, she is left with the difficult choice of prioritizing aesthetics over insanity, bravely venturing into the murky mist to encounter the terrifying realities lurking there. (The press release states this.)

Artist and monster creator kera is transferring her creations to Silent Hill 5, aiming to “pay tribute to the series” with visuals reminiscent of Silent Hill 2, while simultaneously venturing into uncharted territory. Silent Hill’s original composer Akira Yamaoka will be joining in, along with composer Kensuke Inage – both musicians will compose music for the game’s dual worlds.

For the first time, the series is being placed in Japan as its setting, and Silent Hill f will incorporate Japanese folklore and fears when it becomes available on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC. Pre-ordering will come with a limited edition steelbook, and it can be purchased digitally or physically. No release date has been confirmed as of now.
