Furniture designer Kouros Maghsoudi, based in New York City, and audio studio Silence Please recently collaborated on a new project called the Hum Speaker, which they revealed during NYCxDesign 2026. The limited-edition speaker, showcased at Silence Please’s studio in Bowery, combines Maghsoudi’s artistic sculptural style with top-quality sound technology.

These speakers are made in limited batches of just ten pairs, and can be customized with a variety of glossy finishes. The first release features two eye-catching colors – Bone and Black – designed with polished surfaces and flowing shapes. The speaker itself is subtly hidden behind a smooth exterior, but the back gently curves open to showcase the technology inside.

This collaboration takes inspiration from New York’s vibrant nightlife and techno scene, reflecting the look of powerful sound systems, stark architectural spaces, and the energy of dance music. Maghsoudi’s signature design style – using layered shapes, repeating basic forms, and bold curves – is brought to life in a collectible piece that works as both a sound system and a striking work of art.

The Hum Speaker is now available for purchase on the Silence Please website, costing between $12,000 and $15,000.
