Shudder Originals Daddy’s Head and The Demon Disorder will be available to watch this fall
As a die-hard horror fan who has weathered countless sleepless nights thanks to my unhealthy obsession with the genre, I can hardly contain my excitement for the upcoming releases on Shudder this fall! The lineup, especially during their 60 Days of Halloween, never fails to deliver chills and thrills that leave me craving more.
Shudder and AMC Networks have unveiled two upcoming horror flicks set to stream on Shudder this autumn. Notably, these months – September and October – are known for delivering an abundance of unique content on Shudder, as part of their 60 Days of Halloween promotion.
Initially, we have “The Demon Disorder,” a movie co-written and directed by the special effects master, Steven Boyle. Notably, Boyle has previously worked on projects such as “The Matrix trilogy,” “King Kong,” and “The Hobbit” Trilogy. However, this is his debut directorial effort.
A movie titled “The Demon Disorder” from Australia centers around a family in trouble. For some time, Graham has been distanced from his other two brothers, and he’s yet to overcome the emotional impact of his father’s passing. However, things take an alarming turn when his brother Jake reaches out with disturbing news: as per Jake’s claim, their youngest sibling Philip is believed to be possessed by their late father’s spirit, and Jake implores Graham for aid.
As a devoted admirer putting this into my own words, I admit I’m game for meeting up with my siblings, yet my heart isn’t exactly skipping beats about it. When we finally reunite, however, the chilling realization hits us: whoever or whatever is hounding Philip possesses an immense power and a fiery temper to match.
“The Demon Disorder” introduces John Noble (from the “Lord of the Rings” trilogy), Charles Cottier, Dirk Hunter, and Christian Willis in its cast. This chilling production is set to make its debut exclusively on Shudder this coming Friday, September 6. Additionally, it will be accessible for streaming on AMC+ as well.
As an enthusiastic movie-goer, I’m thrilled to share that my favorite streaming service, Shudder, has secured the rights for “Daddy’s Head,” a chilling film written and directed by Benjamin Barfoot, known for “Double Date.” The cast includes Julia Brown from “World on Fire” and Rupert Turnbull from “The Alienist.” This spine-tingling tale revolves around a boy and his stepmother, who find themselves pursued by an eerie entity. Here’s the twist: this creature bears an uncanny resemblance to the boy’s late father.
Film director Barfoot considers “Daddy’s Head” a deeply significant work for him, as it combines his intimate emotions towards family, loss, and distress with his ambition to innovate within the horror genre. He’s excited about collaborating with Shudder on this project.
Daddy’s Head will begin streaming on Shudder on October 11.
