Showtrial star’s psychological thriller to return for second season
As a dedicated gamer and binge-watcher of British dramas, I couldn’t contain my excitement when I heard that Céline Buckens and Tom Mison are returning for another season of “The Ex-Wife” on Paramount+! The first season left me on the edge of my seat with its intricate plot twists and turns, and I can’t wait to see what’s in store for Tasha and Jack in this upcoming installment.
I’m thrilled to share that I, Céline Buckens, am set to reappear in the upcoming second season of “The Ex-Wife” on Paramount+. Following my role in “Showtrial” for the BBC, this is an exciting new opportunity for me to continue exploring my character’s journey on this popular series.
In a recent announcement, the streaming platform disclosed that the second season of the hit thriller will feature the return of its co-star Tom Mison.
In the upcoming season of “The Ex-Wife,” Buckens and Mison will once again portray Tasha and Jack, the seemingly ideal married couple. However, beneath the tranquil facade, Jack’s past with his ex-wife, Jen, continued to complicate their relationship.
Jordan Stephens is listed among the cast members for “The Ex-Wife” season two, reprising his role as Tasha’s friend Sam. Katie McGrath joins the show as a new cast member, assuming the main role of Jen.
The second season will resume the story three years after the first season’s climactic ending. This has been confirmed.
Spoilers follow if you’re not yet caught up with the first season of The Ex-Wife.
Based on the summary, in season two, Tasha and her daughter Emily (acted by Liberty Miller known for ITV’s “Malpractice”) will be living in hiding and beginning a fresh start. Simultaneously, Jen has progressed and is making preparations for her own wedding.
As a seasoned reader with a knack for deciphering complex literary plots, I find myself captivated by the synopsis you’ve shared. The haunting presence of “the shadow of the past” that looms over each of the three main characters resonates deeply with my own experiences.
Sebastian Cardwell, Paramount’s deputy head of content in the UK, shared: “The initial series was a massive hit, and for the upcoming one, we’re preparing more surprises and turns for our audience. I’m eagerly anticipating watching this talented cast breathe life into the next installment of this gripping drama.”
Filming for The Ex-Wife season two is currently taking place in Cyprus.
The Ex-Wife is exclusive to Paramount+ UK & Ireland.
