Should You Try It: Agatha All Along on Disney+

As a longtime Marvel enthusiast who has been following the universe since its inception, I can confidently say that “Agatha All Along” is a must-watch for any fan of the franchise. Having grown up with these characters and their adventures, it’s always exciting to see familiar faces return, especially when they’re as delightfully wicked as Agatha Harkness, played masterfully by Kathryn Hahn.

Autumn has arrived, and along with it, a multitude of fresh TV shows are appearing. With your precious time in mind, the question is which ones deserve a spot on your watchlist? That’s why we’re here – to provide you with all the essential details to make an educated choice. Today, let’s delve into the latest offerings from the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Series: Agatha All Along

Finding It: You can currently stream the first two episodes, and new ones will be added every week, on Disney+.

Title Explanation: The upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) series reintroduces a previously encountered character – Agatha Harkness, portrayed by Kathryn Hahn. We were initially acquainted with Agatha during her sparring match against Wanda Maximoff (Elizabeth Olsen) in the series WandaVision, which debuted as part of the new MCU series lineup in early 2021. In that series, Agatha served as the main adversary.

As the series concluded, Wanda Maximoff had fully taken on the role of the Scarlet Witch, while Agatha Harkness was left powerless and magically confined within the town of Westview. We were hinted at further developments for Agatha as Wanda embarked on fresh journeys. Finally, over three years later, we’re seeing that foreshadowing come to fruition.

The show resumes three years later in Westview, with Agatha returning to consciousness. Feeling angry about her losses and resolved to retrieve them, Agatha embarks on a path along the Witches’ Route. However, before setting off, she requires assistance.

As a fan, I embark on an adventure alongside a young man named Joe Locke, along with some fellow displaced witches – Shasheer Zamata, Aubrey Plaza, Patti LuPone, Debra Jo Rupp, and Ali Ahn. This journey is no walk in the park; it’s a trial that will push each of us to our limits.

Give it a shot if you’re fond of supernatural themes, enjoy the actors in the series, have already watched “WandaVision,” or simply appreciate Marvel Cinematic Universe productions.

One Man’s Opinion of Agatha All Along

Every autumn, I find myself drawn towards some eerie entertainment. From September to Halloween, there’s a definite trend towards series and films that delve into the supernatural and offer chilling scares. The timing for Agatha All Along couldn’t be more perfect. Naturally, as a Disney and MCU fan, it manages to feel festive while remaining accessible to everyone.

I find Hahn’s performance in this role quite delightful. The entire cast is impressive, with Locke (known from Heartstopper) adding a lively vibe to his character, and the other witches are equally captivating. Plaza provides a good contrast to Hahn’s Agatha, and their interactions in the first episode are entertaining. I’ve watched four out of the planned nine episodes so far, and I’m enjoying the gradual development of the storyline.

This show, reminiscent of “WandaVision,” offers an exciting twist at first and becomes enjoyable as it progresses. The second installment focuses on team formation and establishing the challenges ahead, while subsequent episodes delve into the perilous adventure itself. As a delightful extra for Autumn viewers, the series concludes with a two-episode climax on Halloween night. For Marvel Cinematic Universe enthusiasts, this is an absolute must-see!
