Who should you pull for in HSR Version 3.4 Phase 2
In Phase 2 of Honkai: Star Rail’s Version 3.4 update, Firefly, Blade, and Jingliu will be showcased in the banner. Choosing which character to acquire can be challenging due to the varying needs of your team and future content preferences. Each character boasts distinct abilities, but some may provide more short-term and long-term benefits than others. Here’s a brief analysis to assist you in making an informed decision.
1. Blade
Blade performs exceptionally well during late-game content and has been given one of the most impactful buffs. These buffs significantly enhance his overall strength. Despite currently being available on the standard banner, some may find it disappointing that his limited rerun banner seems less appealing, considering there’s a chance you might miss out on him in future 50/50 draws anyway.

From a buff perspective, Buff character stands out as a solid Tier DPS, particularly when compared to other Hunt or Destruction characters. He’s not only stylishly designed and offers an engaging self-sacrificing playstyle, but he also brings a lot to the table. However, with numerous superior DPS options currently available, it might not be the best time to pull him just yet.
2. Firefly
Firefly finishes as the second out of three characters. In days gone by, she was a truly exceptional damage-per-second (DPS) character with engaging mechanics. However, the power level of more recent characters has significantly increased, and Firefly hasn’t been able to match this growth. She can still perform well in teams focusing on breaking and up to around MOC 10 or 11, but she struggles in higher stages and modes such as Pure Fiction.

If you don’t have backup characters to enhance her performance, she might not be the best choice compared to other DPS options available. She’s enjoyable to play with, but if you’re looking for a character to excel in challenging content, you might want to consider other alternatives.
3. Jingliu
Jingliu, even with the enhancements she’s received, hasn’t managed to climb out of her lower-tier position yet. Among all the characters who have been buffed, she gained the least benefit from it. Her abilities primarily focus on dealing damage based on maximum health, increasing critical damage, and some light defense bypass. This means she remains usable as a Damage Per Second (DPS) character, but her rank hasn’t significantly improved.

The enhancements make her performance smoother and slightly more dependable, particularly for those who have already sunk resources into her. However, it’s important to note that she hasn’t yet reached the caliber of top-tier Damage Per Second (DPS) creatures such as the current DPS characters.
