Shopify Rebellion Gold advanced to the grand final of the VALORANT Game Changers Championship 2025 after defeating MIBR in the lower bracket final. This marks their third time reaching the championship match.
Shopify Rebellion Gold, the two-time champions, are heading to the grand final after defeating MIBR GC 3-1 in a thrilling elimination match. They’ll now face Team Liquid with a chance to win the VALORANT Game Changers Championship 2025 for the third year in a row.
Previous memories for MIBR, eagerness for meL
MIBR finished in third place after this defeat. Last year at the Game Changers Championship, they also lost to SR, but in the championship match. Camila “sayuri” Obam remembers, “Last year, we were completely unable to compete – we didn’t do anything and just kept losing.” This time, she says, it was different: “We played our own game, but unfortunately, we lost. The important thing is we weren’t afraid to play.”
From the moment I arrived in Korea, every experience has been incredibly meaningful to me, and this event is no different. Being able to compete on this stage, in a championship like this, is truly one of the most valuable things to me,” said Giulia “lissA” Lissa.
There’s a lot of heart and drive going into this championship match. Losing to Team Liquid really motivated me, and I discovered a new level of determination. We’ve been working incredibly hard, not just for this event, but throughout the entire year preparing for GCC 2025,” explained Melanie “meL” Capone.
Losing to Team Liquid was tough at first, but it quickly motivated us to get back to competing. We knew we needed to win against MIBR and just get back to playing VALORANT. Team Liquid is a fantastic team and a fun opponent, and I’m eager to compete against them again with strong gameplay.
SRG take down MIBR, again
Shopify Rebellion Gold and MIBR GC have met before at this tournament. They first played in the upper bracket quarterfinals, where SRG won decisively with a 2-0 score, including a dominant 13-1 victory on one map.
This time, though, SRG had to exert more effort to wrestle the win from MIBR.
It seemed like MIBR would win the first map, but SRG turned things around by winning six rounds in a row, ultimately finishing with a score of 13-11.
Next map, MIBR closed out the first half 9-3, and it was simple for them to close it out, 13-6.
The third map, Corrode, was all about building momentum and going on winning streaks. MIBR started strong, winning the first six rounds, but SRG quickly answered with eight rounds of their own. MIBR managed to stop SRG’s streak in round 15, but SRG then won five more rounds in a row, finishing the game and putting them on the verge of winning the match.
SRG dominated the first half on Map 4, Abyss, winning with a score of 8-4 and putting themselves in a strong position to win the match. MIBR attempted a comeback, but couldn’t prevent SRG from…
