Shona McGarty has addressed speculation about a romantic connection with her fellow contestant, Aitch, from the show I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!
People began to wonder if the 34-year-old actress and the 25-year-old rapper, whose name is Harrison James Armstrong, were becoming a couple after they shared some affectionate moments while filming in the jungle.
Shona recently cleared up speculation about a potential romance after appearing on the Hits Radio Breakfast Show with Fleur East, Will Best, and James Barr. She discussed her experience on the show and addressed the rumours directly.
On the Hits Radio Breakfast Show, Shona explained that rumors started circulating about her being in a relationship with Aitch after she came out publicly.
He’s still like a little brother to me – always a blast to hang out with! We both have a lot of energy, so we really match each other’s vibe. He hasn’t joined me for karaoke yet, but I’m hoping we can do that soon.
This follows Shona’s recent comments about her connection with Aitch, after she’d expressed sadness about him leaving the show. She ultimately finished third on the show earlier this month.
I honestly couldn’t believe it when she got voted off! She was so close to being Queen of the Jungle, making it all the way to the final three! It was down to her, Tom, and AngryGinge, and then… she was gone. I was devastated! Of course, AngryGinge ended up winning, which… fine, good for him, I guess. But I was really rooting for her! It just wasn’t fair!
As she spoke in her exit interview with Ant and Dec, she gushed about Aitch.
When asked about their good connection, she explained to the two presenters from Newcastle: ‘Honestly, when the rapper first arrived in the jungle, he seemed very confident, but I quickly realized he was actually quite nervous about the whole thing.’
He was a really genuine and grounded person, and because we shared similar backgrounds, I felt very protective of him, like an older sister would.
The show began with the actress expressing her sadness over Aitch leaving their specially-made jungle camp.
The way she reacted to his loss in the semi-finals suggested their connection was more than just a friendship; she seemed genuinely upset to see him go.
Shona was heartbroken after unexpectedly leaving the jungle, telling the Bush Telegraph, “Saying goodbye to Aitch was so hard… I’ll see him again tomorrow.”
The comment quickly led to viewers wondering if the two people involved might become a couple after Shona’s time on the show is over.
Taking to X, one commented: ‘Shona was devastated!’
A second added: ‘The way aitch & Shona hugged… they are SO SWEET!!’
Okay, I have to admit, I’m completely obsessed with the possibility of Aitch and Shona getting together! Seriously, someone needs to confirm if there’s something going on between them because they would be SO adorable together!

When the Daily Mail inquired about a romantic connection, he firmly denied it, stating, ‘We’re just good friends, there’s nothing romantic between us.’
We really connected through our shared love of music. Honestly, almost all of our conversations in the jungle revolved around how talented she is as a singer.
‘I knew that she was trying to come out of the Jungle and pursue a music career.
I believe this is simply due to how old I am. She discussed the same things with Martin, but people wouldn’t assume anything romantic between them because he’s married. It’s a double standard.
‘So, unfortunately, I’m the next option.’
The rapper said he would use his connections in the music industry to help Shona when they both returned to the UK.
He explained that their conversations usually involved him complimenting her singing and encouraging her to overcome her fear and actually pursue a career in it.
This follows speculation among viewers that Shona McGarty and Aitch had a connection. Both had recently ended long-term relationships – Shona split from her fiancé David Bracken after nine years, and Aitch broke up with his girlfriend, Lois Cottam, just weeks before entering the jungle.
