FX has announced that a second season of its popular action-adventure show, Shōgun, is officially in the works. They’ve also revealed which actors from the first season will be back, and who will be joining the cast as new characters.
Filming for the second season of Shōgun is scheduled to start in Vancouver in January 2026. Hiroyuki Sanada and Cosmo Jarvis will return as Lord Yoshii Toranaga and John Blackthorne, respectively. Many of the original cast members will also be back, including Fumi Nikaidô, Shinnosuke Abe, Hiroto Kanai, Yoriko Dôguchi, Tommy Bastow, Yuko Miyamoto, Eita Okuno, and Yuka Kouri.
The series will also feature several new actors. Joining the cast are Asami Kizukawa as Aya, Masataka Kubota as Hyūga, Sho Kaneta as Hidenobu, Takaaki Enoki as Lord Ito, and Jun Kunimura as Gōda.
