Shocking Secret: Married At First Sight’s Jeff Gobbels Was a Soap Opera Star!

Previously employed as an actor in various popular Australian television series, among them the long-running daytime drama Neighbours, is Jeff Gobbels – a participant from Married At First Sight.

Currently, a 39-year-old former reality TV personality works as an electrician. However, between 2017 and 2021, he also played the role of Constable Kurt Bridges on the Channel Ten soap opera.

On the program, Jeff presented a formidable presence, donning full military attire from head to toe, assisting the residents of Ramsay Street in resolving several mysteries and crimes.

Despite being featured in just a handful of episodes, Jeff’s character left such a lasting impact that there are numerous requests circulating online for his return.

The actor from Melbourne was additionally featured in various Australian performances, one of which being his role as a waiter in the 2019 film “The Whistleblower,” alongside John Batchelor, who is famous for his role in “Red Dog.

Additionally, he appeared in the 2017 ABC comedy-drama series “The Warriors,” where he worked alongside seasoned actors Vince Colosimo and Lisa McCune.

After Rhi Disljenkovic, Jeff’s bride, finally spoke up in last night’s episode, we learned about the surprising encounter she had with her “Married at First Sight” partner who turned out to be an ex-boyfriend.

In an exclusive conversation with Daily Mail Australia, Rhi shared her unusual tale of tying the knot with Jeff Gobbels, a man she had only previously gone out with for a short while.

Rhi shared, “It felt unbelievable. I enrolled in an experiment where I was to marry a person I didn’t know. But amazingly, I ended up marrying someone I had previously dated! Truly, it was quite an extraordinary and mind-blowing encounter.

Rhi’s profound shock was undeniably evident as she made her way down the aisle, instantly recognizing Jeff.

She expressed, ‘My expression and pause at the end of the aisle spoke volumes. In that moment, I recall questioning, “What will become of this situation?” It was his unexpected presence that caused my surprise and halt.’

The significant moment equally left Jeff speechless when he witnessed the Melbourne-based fitness blogger making her way down the aisle.

Jeff, dressed elegantly in a black, well-tailored three-piece suit, burst into laughter upon spotting the radiant Rhi, gracefully approaching him.

At the altar, Jeff greeted Rhi with a friendly “Hello,” indicating their prior relationship, which deviated from the well-known show rule where couples wed based on ‘first sight.’

In response, Rhi looked equally as shocked as she declared: ‘What the hell?’

Regardless of their past discomfort, they vowed to put effort into nurturing a bond for the purpose of this project.

Rhi stated, “We pledged to put all our effort into this experiment. We said, ‘With us being matched up for a purpose, let’s definitely try our hardest.’ In the upcoming weeks, you’ll notice that we tackled every task with our best abilities.

Despite having a brief relationship, they chose not to reveal their romance to their families, so no one present at their wedding had any idea about it beforehand.

Rhi openly confessed that she entered the dating competition with absolutely no prior knowledge, unaware of what awaited her there.

She expressed surprise, saying that neither she nor Jeff knew they’d both appear on the show together – it came as a complete surprise to her.

As she and Jeff have such similar personalities Rhi wasn’t surprised the crew matched them.

As for me, Jeff seems like the kind of person I’d usually be drawn to. It makes perfect sense that our friends introduced us and the experts paired us up, given how much we have in common.

‘Our values align, and what I look for in a partner is exactly what Jeff is.

Last year, timing was the primary factor that prevented us from succeeding. However, having something seem beneficial or effective on a theoretical level doesn’t guarantee its practical success.

Yet, she acknowledged that their relationship was still encountering a significant challenge: cultivating a romantic bond, given that they had earlier chosen to be just friends.
