A lesser-known Spider-Man character will be integrated into Marvel Studio’s upcoming series, “Vision Quest”, which is a sequel to “WandaVision”. This Disney+ series will focus on Paul Bettany’s character, Vision, who initially appeared as Tony Stark’s AI assistant JARVIS before gaining a physical form from the Mind Stone in “Avengers: Age of Ultron”. After his death in “Avengers: Infinity War”, his body was revived by SWORD (as White Vision), and eventually, his mind was liberated in “WandaVision”. The series “Vision Quest” will delve into the story of the White Vision following these occurrences.
According to entertainment insider Daniel Richtman, Emily Hampshire from Schitt’s Creek is said to have been chosen for the part of EDITH in Vision Quest. This role represents the human incarnation of the artificial intelligence system created by Tony Stark, a character known for being housed within a pair of sunglasses which were passed on to Peter Parker (Tom Holland) in Spider-Man: Far From Home. In the movie, EDITH was the desired item for Quentin Beck/Mysterio (Jake Gyllenhaal), granting him access to Stark Industries’ satellite network of weapons and drones.

In the movie “Spider-Man: No Way Home”, after Spider-Man overcame Mysterio and reclaimed EDITH (Emergency Department Industrial Titan Hazardous Environment Hardware), the Department of Damage Control seized the glasses for examination, as they were crucial to the inquiry into Beck’s demise. Since then, EDITH has been idle within the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but it seems that this AI system will assume a fresh function in the upcoming film “Vision Quest“.
It remains undecided if Dawn Michelle King, EDITH’s original voice actor, will continue in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, or if Hampshire is now the only one portraying the role. Additionally, it hasn’t been clarified how EDITH’s human form will be realized – whether it will involve a synthezoid reconstruction similar to Vision, or a digital or holographic representation instead.

The series titled “Vision Quest” serves as the second sequel to “WandaVision,” with a continuation set in 2026, following the one-off special “Agatha All Along“. Created by Terry Matalas, this miniseries is slated for release on Disney+ and falls under Phase 6 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The cast has expanded to include Hampshire alongside returning stars such as Bettany, James Spader as Ultron, Ruaridh Mollica as Tucker, and T’Nia Miller as Jacosta.
