Shocking Double Elimination Leaves Fans Reeling on I’m A Celebrity Australia!

I’m A Celebrity Australia stunned viewers on Thursday night with a shocking double elimination.

Due to an extraordinary amount of votes cast to secure their favorites’ places, each of the last five competitors found themselves potentially at risk of elimination.

Nevertheless, just three contestants moved forward to the final round, leaving comedian Geraldine Hickey and TikTok sensation Max Balegde out of the competition. Their supporters were undoubtedly disappointed by this turn of events.

As a devoted fan, I was thrilled to learn directly from hosts Julia Morris and Robert Irwin that Sam Thaiday, Reggie Bird, and Matty ‘J’ Johnson are the remaining contenders for the 2025 season.

I’m sorry that didn’t turn out as you hoped! It would have been great to see both Max and Geraldine make it to the final three… Oh dear, I’ve been rooting for both of them in the voting today! [On X, formerly known as Twitter]

It was pointed out that, compared to the others, Gez and Max seem to spend significantly more time on screens, with Matt coming in third place.

‘I adore both Reggie [Bird] and Sam [Thaiday], but they haven’t received many updates until now, at least from my perspective.’

A third commented: ‘Max and Geraldine being voted out on the same day is literally homophobic.’

‘Geraldine going home before Matty J is my villain origin story,’ said another.

Someone else fumed: ‘Geri should’ve won.’

Regardless of the strong desire among viewers at home for Geraldine (age 46) and Max (age 26) to stay in the reality show, they departed with great enthusiasm.

Geraldine expressed her great enthusiasm and joy. She was particularly pleased that it was Max and she who were setting off together,” (or) “Geraldine was filled with excitement and happiness. It made her especially happy that it was Max and herself who were departing together.

Meanwhile, Max was thrilled beyond measure to be part of the series that he considered his ultimate favorite.

He expressed that securing a spot on the show felt like a victory for him, as it’s his favorite television program.

I find myself feeling quite emotional again, it seems I’m prone to tears these days. The experiences I’ve had recently have been absolutely momentous and deeply meaningful for me.

‘I’ll never forget this and I never in a million years thought I would get to the top five.’

Geraldine agreed with the sentiment, saying: ‘This is ultimate. This is everything.’

When Julia Morris, the show’s host, inquired about the comedian’s strategy for handling constant screen time, she responded by mentioning that her fellow contestants provided significant assistance.

She mentioned, “You’ve got folks similar to Max nearby. You work things out. You take breaks when needed, and understand that’s okay.

After that, you find a nearby stream and settle down to appreciate the surroundings. As you gaze upward, you exclaim, “This is simply amazing!

‘This is life changing and amazing and your heart just gets filled with joy.’

I’m A Celebrity Australia will return on Sunday at 7.00pm on Channel Ten and 10 Play.
