Shocking Claims: MAFS Experts Fed Lines by Producers, Say Contestants!

longtime participants Tahnee Cook and Selina Chhaur have shockingly alleged that the experts on Married at First Sight are given scripted dialogue by the show’s producers.

On their latest episode of the “Back to Reality” podcast, the duo talked about the Channel Nine dating show, revealing that during their stint on the program, they were able to overhear the producers communicating with the specialists via an earpiece.

‘The scary thing is not even the experts talking. I don’t think the audience know,’ Selina began.

‘They wear an ear piece, you can hear it [producers talking to them].’

Tahnee mentioned that she could clearly catch the precise phrases the specialists were given, making it an unusual process for her to receive their guidance.

Tahnee remarked, “It’s quite loud and disturbing. You would likely be seated, around the same distance as now, and you could definitely hear it.

‘You can literally hear what’s being said in the ear piece.’

In 2022, Selina made an appearance during season nine of the program, while Tahnee graced the series 10 the subsequent year.

Season nine of the show welcomed Selina in 2022, and Tahnee joined series 10 the year after that.

The current team of experts on the show, including John Aiken, Mel Schilling, and Alessandra Rampolla, have previously refuted allegations that they receive scripted lines via earpiece.

2019 saw the show’s team of relationship advisors firmly stating that their position holds a special significance and they have the autonomy to express their opinions without being scripted by the show’s producers.

During the same period, Trisha Stafford, a deceased clinical neuropsychotherapist, refuted allegations made by previous contestants that the panel was given prewritten lines to use during commitment ceremonies.

She explained to TV Tonight that the show is not scripted, making it a kind of exploration where various factors are introduced, much like any scientific experiment.

‘We don’t do anything [to advance storylines], we observe them and talk to them.’

In January, Dean Wells, who was a participant on the 2018 season of Married at First Sight, claimed that the experts received instructions about what to say through an earpiece.

He mentioned in a YouTube video that these professionals are expected to provide you with details, help you navigate various topics, and assist with other related matters as well.

However, upon engaging in conversation with them, I find that they don’t immediately respond to my questions directly, as Dean mentioned.

They momentarily halt, take a brief pause, reach for their earpieces, listen to instructions from the production team about what to convey, and subsequently address you.

They aren’t genuinely conversing with you; instead, the words are being fed to them through an earpiece. They simply remain seated while the programmers dictate their dialogue.
