Shock new Aussie state Kyle Sandilands and Jackie ‘O’ Henderson are heading to after taking over Melbourne – amid fears they will take everyone’s jobs

Popular radio hosts Kyle Sandilands and Jackie ‘O’ Henderson will be bringing their show to Perth in 2026, following a successful launch in Melbourne last year.

ARN announced on Wednesday that the popular Kyle and Jackie O radio show will be expanding to Perth. This is part of a larger plan to make the show available across the entire country and establish a strong national brand.

Starting in 2026, the ARN KIIS and GOLD radio stations will broadcast nationally, and the popular Kyle and Jackie O show will be available on a new digital platform called KIIS DAB+.

ARN, which already operates 96FM in Perth, is expanding significantly. The launch of KIIS Perth is its biggest move yet, adding to its existing stations in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, and Adelaide.

As a long-time listener, I’m so excited to see KIIS FM becoming a truly national station! And honestly, I think Kyle and Jackie heading to Perth is a brilliant move. It’s a whole new market for them, which is a bit daunting, but they seem really positive about it, and I’m confident they’ll smash it!

It’s not yet known if the changes will lead to any job losses as a result of bringing in Kyle and Jackie O.

Oh my gosh, ever since they started on the radio in Melbourne back in 2024, I’ve been completely hooked! They’ve been gaining so many listeners in Victoria’s capital city, it’s amazing to watch! I knew they were special from the start, and now everyone else is realizing it too!

A recent GfK survey showed that Kyle and Jackie have become very popular with listeners in Melbourne, gaining a large audience share in May.

Lauren Joyce, ARN’s head of audience and content, explained that while ratings are important, they’re not the only thing ARN considers as it grows.

According to a recent statement, ARN plans to expand its reach nationwide in 2026 with its two well-known media brands.

While we track the data, our primary focus is on the overall impact and reach of our work,” Joyce explained to B&T.

We’ll be reviewing a mix of data, including website traffic, streaming performance, podcast downloads, and our social media activity.

Entertainment isn’t limited to just one type of media anymore. We’re concentrating on meeting audiences wherever they are and providing content in the way they prefer – and that means expanding beyond just audio to cover all formats.

The Perth launch supports ARN’s goal of creating ‘borderless entertainment’ – meaning listeners can easily access content across radio, podcasts, streaming, and social media, no matter how they choose to listen.

Joyce stated that ARN believed the Kyle and Jackie O show was popular enough to succeed if launched in a different city or region.

She explained that people’s enjoyment of content isn’t necessarily tied to where they live; people in different places can still find the same things entertaining.

Last year, the popular Kyle and Jackie O radio show expanded to Melbourne in a deal worth millions of dollars.

The announcement led to Jason Hawkins and Lauren Phillips losing their breakfast show on KIIS FM, a consequence Kyle Sandilands said he didn’t particularly care about.

He explained to news.com.au that they decided on Melbourne because they felt they’d done well competing against Jase and Lauren on KIIS FM. Despite consistently ranking fourth in the radio ratings, they were confident in their chances and moved forward with the plan.

He explained that The Kyle & Jackie O Show was transferred to Melbourne because the city’s radio market was struggling, and they hoped the show could attract more listeners.
