Nicky Buckley was sent home on Thursday’s episode of I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!

After being eliminated from the contest, the well-known former host of a popular TV game show emotionally bid goodbye to the remaining camp members with heartfelt hugs and words of gratitude.

In a surprising turn of events, Nicky, aged 59, found herself sharing the third-last positions with renowned Australian actress Sigrid Thornton and well-known reality TV personality Tina Provis.

And in a touching moment Tina appeared to accept her eviction with calm.

Following my triumph at IAC last month, where I shared my unique experience as a TV host on “The Sale of the Century” while pregnant with my son in 1997, here’s a glimpse into my journey.

In a recent episode of I’m A Celebrity, she mentioned being subjected to considerable criticism due to her choice of figure-accentuating gowns, which highlighted her pregnant belly.

She shared with her fellow campers that the fax machines at Channel Nine had been overwhelmed with complaints from viewers regarding her on-air presence.

She stated that they were expressing their disapproval, suggesting she step away until after giving birth, following which numerous publications wrote about it. Newspapers and radio stations also covered the story, she added.

‘If I had that much hate now I don’t know how I’d cope,’ she admitted.

‘But I must have had some really good hormones going around because I was like “whatever”.’

Following Nicky’s disclosure on Monday about the surprising cause behind her dismissal from the Perfect Match hosting position, here’s what transpired next.

The TV presenter hosted the Channel Ten dating show in the early 1990s alongside Greg Evans.

Nicky asserted that she lost her job six months into it due to insufficiently portraying a flirtatious demeanor during filming.

Nicky clarified that his initial TV program was named “Perfect Match.” Later, when it got revived, it became known as “Blind Date.” This was prior to his involvement in “Sale [of the Century].

‘And after six months only… I got the sack.’

In a different phrase, it could be expressed as: ‘They asked me to act bubbly and flirtatious, but I didn’t want to appear superficial or unintelligent.’

Fellow campmate Dave Hughes asked Nicky if she felt relieved to be off the show.

‘No, I was shattered. I was embarrassed,’ she admitted.

After losing my job, I decided to tackle my fear of public opinion head-on. So, I enrolled in voice lessons and acting classes to help me build confidence.

As a devoted partner to Murray Bingham-Cooper, I’m proud to say we’ve been blessed with three remarkable sons: Nicky (27), Jasper (26), and Baxter (22). For a span of six years, I had the privilege of co-hosting Sale of the Century alongside Glenn Ridge.

Murray, who is a model, was also a regular fixture on the program.

Following the conclusion of The Sale of the Century, Nicky moved forward to present segments for Good Morning Australia and the Today show, and even participated as a competitor on Dancing with the Stars.
