Spike Chunsoft has released its dungeon-crawling RPG, Shiren the Wanderer: The Mystery Dungeon of Serpentcoil Island, on Android and iOS devices worldwide for $19.99. The game was originally launched on Switch and PC in 2024, and first revealed in Japan last November.

There are 34 dungeons to explore, and I especially appreciate how the Mystery Dungeon changes every time you play. The floor plans, items, and even the characters you encounter are randomized, keeping things fresh. It’s rewarding to learn each dungeon’s challenges and collect resources and allies to help you succeed.

You can play as Koppa or Asuka and even call for rescue during your dungeon run

Longtime fans will be excited to hear that Koppa and Asuka are now playable characters. While playing as them is enjoyable, I especially liked the Rescue feature. It lets you call on other players for help if you fall in a dungeon, which is really cool.

Despite being a bit pricey for a mobile game, this title is genuinely fun to play. It boasts fantastic content – a beautiful Japanese-inspired art style, charming characters, engaging dungeons, and features like Rescue and Parallel Play. Plus, it offers smooth controls and includes the complete game with all downloadable content.
