Shia LaBeouf is crediting three Hollywood stars with saving his life and helping him stay sober.

38-year-old actor has faced numerous controversies following the emergence of abuse accusations from his former partner, FKA Twigs.

In the year 2022, Shia LaBeouf encountered Mel Gibson for the first time, which was two years following the initial surfacing of the abuse allegations. It was during this period that the Australian actor acquainted Shia with Latin mass church services as part of his research for a film project.

In his own words, LaBeouf stated that it was Sean Penn and James Brolin who helped him achieve sobriety. He explained that they were by his side and played a crucial role in keeping him alive.

The actor mentioned that Sean joined him, giving him the push to carry on with this performance as if it were a game. Initially, he admitted feeling extremely nervous when things got underway. He added that Penn and Sam Rockwell came by during the initial week to offer their encouragement.

He mentioned that there were several men who I admired greatly began appearing. For the first time in my life, I didn’t know what it was, but I can say without a doubt that I hadn’t felt such affection before – nothing even remotely similar to that.

When queried if his friendship might serve as a stepping stone towards recovery, LaBeouf responded, “I certainly hope so. May my entire life be devoted to that.

He expressed his aspiration for the remainder of his life to be about finding balance and making correct decisions. This aligns with his desires, and there are many aspects in his life that require careful consideration and proper handling.

He acknowledged that he considers himself fortunate to continue practicing his craft at an elite level, remarking that it seems almost unbelievable or miraculous.

He was expressing the idea that everything is connected, either through God’s existence or nonexistence – a belief he holds firm to. He mentioned that he often engages in profound discussions about faith with Dave Mamet.

The actor mentioned that we’ve visited temples together and he has attended church services with me. Both of us have had immersive spiritual experiences.

In 2010, Gibson ended his alcohol addiction following a contentious anti-Semitic outburst in 2006. Similar to LaBeouf, he later converted to Catholicism.

In 2013, Brolin decided to abstain from alcohol, whereas Penn has been backing his son Hopper as he overcomes an addiction to crystal meth.
