Shia LaBeouf FINALLY settles explosive sexual battery lawsuit with ex FKA Twigs

FKA Twigs has finally resolved her long-standing legal dispute with her former boyfriend, Shia LaBeouf, which dates back almost four years since she initially filed a well-publicized lawsuit alleging abuse against him.

As reported by TMZ from court records, on Monday, the 37-year-old British musician (known as Tahliah Debrett Barnett) has asked for all lawsuits against Daniel LaBeouf, aged 39, to be dropped permanently. This decision prevents her from revisiting this case in court in the future.

In 2020, a lawsuit was initiated claiming a sum of ten million dollars in compensation. It accused the defendants of sexual battery, physical assault, and causing emotional harm throughout their relationship.

They started dating once they met while working together on Shia LaBeouf’s 2019 partially autobiographical film “Honey Boy”, where FKA twigs got the role.

The legal representatives for both sides have announced that they’ve settled the issue confidentially, as reported to DailyMail.com.

In pursuit of a productive resolution, both parties have chosen to resolve their dispute outside of court. Although the specific terms of the agreement will be kept confidential, they express their hopes for mutual prosperity, personal well-being, and tranquility in the time ahead.

During that period, Shawn Holley served as the representative for LaBeouf, whereas Twigs enlisted the services of Bryan Freedman, a lawyer based in Los Angeles, who is currently engaged in a legal dispute with Justin Baldoni, an actor, and Blake Lively.

As a connoisseur of life’s finer aspects, I must address a troubling matter that has recently come to light. In this situation, it’s been alleged that Shia LaBeouf, unbeknownst to me, exposed me to a sexually transmitted disease and, in an alarming turn of events, threatened to endanger our lives by recklessly driving a vehicle with me as his passenger. These accusations are deeply concerning and demand attention.

She also alleged he physically assaulted her at a gas station following that incident.

Shia LaBeouf has rejected several accusations and made a public admission about his past destructive actions when he initially addressed them.

He admitted to The New York Times that he has no valid reasons for his alcoholism and aggressive behavior, only explanations that don’t hold up. For many years, he has been abusive towards himself and others, an act he deeply regrets and feels ashamed about. He apologizes sincerely to those who were hurt by his actions.

In March 2024, Twigs opened up about the consequences of her past relationship with LaBeouf in a candid conversation for Vogue magazine.

She expressed that at first, she assumed the separation would resemble any other, with her feeling sorrowful for half a year to a year, after which she’d miraculously awaken to find everything back to normal again. This is what she conveyed to the media source.

As a lifestyle expert, I’d put it this way: “I’ve come to realize that past traumas can significantly alter our nervous systems. For me, the range within which I can handle stress without becoming overwhelmed has noticeably shrunk. Consequently, my body responds to stress in quite intense manners, making it clear when it’s agitated.

In a flurry of intense accusations, Twigs initiated a lawsuit against the celebrity. These claims, many of them shocking, were eventually tackled by the actor in 2022. However, the musician countered with allegations of manipulation against him.

In reaction to her shocking accusations, LaBeouf labeled his former partner as an exceptional individual and reminisced about the times she intervened in his life, helping him regain consciousness and motivating him to acknowledge and assume responsibility for his own actions.

Meanwhile, Twigs called their relationship ‘the worst thing I’ve ever been through in my life.’ 

In an interview with Jon Bernthal’s podcast, Real Ones, in 2022, he admitted: “I caused harm to a woman, and in the course of hurting her, I also harmed numerous others, as well as several individuals prior to her.

Transformation is needed, as I was driven by pleasure, self-interest, egoism, dishonesty, thoughtlessness, and fear. Pondering over the path my life took and where it stands today, questioning its purpose… I yearn to be beneficial instead.

In her accusations, Tahliah Barnett (also known as TikkaMax or T-Pain’s ex-girlfriend, but more commonly known as FKA twigs) claimed that Shia LaBeouf physically assaulted and choked her, knowingly transmitted a sexually transmitted disease to her, and subjected her to both physical and verbal abuse.

However, despite his past struggles with PTSD and alcoholism, LaBeouf declared in 2022 that he currently finds himself in a more favorable state of being.

In her article for Vogue, FKA opened up about the extent of her suffering, expressing: ‘To heal, I needed to show immense understanding towards myself and truly hear my inner voice…’

‘I’d like to delve deeper into understanding the fundamental aspects that matter most: love, nature, sustenance, a healthier lifestyle, and self-care. I’m moving away from the tranquil pastel-hued yoga lifestyle.’

Ever since then, she has been in a relationship with Jordan Hemingway. They made their romance public in March 2023.

Speaking about her new relationship, she excitedly shared: “I’ve had my share of unsuccessful attempts, but with Jordan, I find him truly attentive. He manages to bring out aspects of myself that others have never been able to access before.

She shared that when she’s with someone less public than herself, she makes an effort to ensure the situation is as comfortable as possible because she’s been in their shoes before. She added that it’s not a pleasant experience. Currently, she feels prepared to advocate for causes she believes in and shield those she cares about.

Meanwhile, LaBeouf is married to actress Mia Goth, whom he shares a daughter named Isabel. 

Over time, their bond has faced several turbulences, such as a split and a divorce petition filed in 2018.
