Shia LaBeouf arrested in New Orleans following alleged altercation during Mardi Gras

Shia LaBeouf reportedly got into a fight during Mardi Gras celebrations in New Orleans on Tuesday morning, resulting in a trip to the hospital and accusations of assault.

New Orleans police arrested actor Michael K. Williams, age 39, in the French Quarter around 12:45 a.m. He’s been charged with simple battery after allegedly hitting two men.

A representative for the “Transformers” star did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

FKA twigs has filed a lawsuit against her former boyfriend, Shia LaBeouf, claiming he subjected her to both physical and emotional abuse. LaBeouf has a known pattern of problematic behavior and previous arrests.

Police responded to a report of an assault at a business on Royal Street. Two men claimed they were attacked by Shia LaBeouf, who was reportedly causing a scene. Staff asked LaBeouf to leave, and police say he then hit one of the men repeatedly with his fists.

I was shocked to read the police report. Apparently, after leaving the establishment, Shia LaBeouf came back and was even more agitated. People tried to calm him down and just wanted him to leave, so they let him go, hoping that would be the end of it. Sadly, it wasn’t. The report says he immediately went back to attacking the same man, repeatedly punching him in the chest. And then, unbelievably, he’s accused of punching another man right in the nose. It’s just a really disturbing account.

So, I just saw the reports and the footage from this whole situation with Shia LaBeouf, and it’s pretty disturbing. Apparently, he was involved in some kind of street altercation where people actually restrained him until the authorities showed up. They ended up taking him to get checked out for injuries, and then arrested him as soon as he was released. TMZ posted a video, and it’s rough – you can see multiple guys surrounding him while he’s lying there without a shirt on. One of them actually punches him as he’s trying to get up, and people are yelling for everyone to calm down. The video ends with him being held down by two people. It’s a really unsettling scene.

I’ve followed Shia LaBeouf’s career for a while now, and it’s been a rollercoaster. He grew up in Los Angeles and, even after trying to break away from his early fame on Disney Channel, he seemed to constantly struggle with issues – often involving public outbursts and trouble with the law. Things really came to a head in 2020 when his ex-girlfriend, FKA twigs, bravely came forward with a lawsuit detailing serious allegations of assault, sexual battery, and emotional abuse. She also claimed he had abused another former partner. He’s publicly denied everything, but it was a really difficult time, and it definitely cast a shadow over his recent work, like the film ‘Honey Boy’ where he seemed to be trying to address some of his past.

Speaking to the New York Times during the lawsuit, he stated he wouldn’t defend his actions and believed the women involved deserved a public platform to share their experiences, adding that he would take responsibility for what he had done.

The exes settled the lawsuit 2025.

Shia LaBeouf is married to Mia Goth, an actress famous for her roles in horror movies like “Frankenstein,” “Infinity Pool,” and the “X” trilogy.
