Sheridan Smith is set to star in a “razor-sharp play” from Alan Ayckbourn.
Will Mellor, known for his role in *Two Pints of Lager and a Packet of Crisps*, will be starring in *Woman in Mind*, a play about a woman living with two different versions of reality.
After hitting her head, Susan starts experiencing two separate realities – a normal one and a fantastical one – and they gradually begin to merge.

The show will be at London’s Duke of York theatre from December 9th to February 28th. Following that, it will visit the Empire Theatre in Sunderland from March 4th to 7th, and then the Theatre Royal in Glasgow from March 10th to 14th.

Award-winning actress Smith announced on Instagram that she’s thrilled to return to the stage as Susan.
During a break from the photoshoot, she explained that Alan Ayckbourn’s work is so popular because he’s incredibly talented. She added that she was eager to begin working on a project immediately.
I’m thrilled to be performing in London’s West End again! The Duke of York’s Theatre holds a special place in my heart, and I’m really happy to be returning there.

More information about the actors will be revealed soon. The play will be directed by Michael Longhurst, who previously directed productions of *Constellations* and *Caroline, or Change*.
Soutra Gilmour will design the sets and costumes. Lee Curran is responsible for lighting, Paul Arditti for sound, and Jim Carnahan and Liz Fraser will handle casting.
