‘She is very, very fragile. We’re all terrified’: Fears grow for Sharon Osbourne as emotional friends tell ALISON BOSHOFF how death of husband Ozzy has affected her – and why she may bury him in the garden

At the beginning of this month, when Ozzy Osbourne performed on stage for what is believed to be his last concert, it signified a grand and fitting farewell to the world of rock ‘n’ roll for the Lord of Darkness.

In addition to being diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease in 2019, Ozzy has encountered issues such as back and neck problems, neuropathy (pain or numbness due to nerve damage), and complications affecting his internal organs.

The friend, visibly upset, conveyed to the Mail yesterday that his friend had been experiencing immense pain and had endured some particularly difficult days. It appears he had been aware for a while that his time was limited, and given the rock and roll culture, he might have passed away during a performance.

seventeen days after that, he sadly breathed his last at Welders House, a stunning estate in Buckinghamshire, which he and his wife Sharon purchased in 1993 for an undisclosed amount. His children Louis, Aimee, Jack, and Kelly were there with him in his final moments.

It’s thought that Sharon, who is deeply saddened, might choose to have a small, private funeral for Ozzy at their expansive 350-acre property due to her fragile state, instead of attending a larger, public event.

Previously, doctors advised that Ozzy, who hails from Birmingham, was too unwell to return to the United Kingdom from Los Angeles, a city where he and Sharon have resided for approximately three decades.

After being in a wheelchair since February, Ozzy returned to Buckinghamshire just last month to prepare for his performance at Black Sabbath’s final show by undergoing training to regain his strength.

According to my source, during his last moments, there seemed to be no identifiable illness. We were all aware that his time was coming to an end. Ultimately, he passed away tranquilly at home, surrounded by his loved ones.

It remains uncertain whether she possesses the emotional fortitude to organize a grand farewell gathering for all those longing to bid adieu. However, speculation suggests she might prefer a private burial within her own sanctuary – right in her tranquil garden.

In January 2023, when Jeff Beck, the renowned rock guitarist, passed away unexpectedly due to bacterial meningitis, it was Sandra Cash, his wife, who took care of certain matters for him.

However, despite the preparations for Ozzy’s funeral, people close to the family express concerns about Sharon’s wellbeing, given her age of 72.

In the year 2002, she was identified with advanced colon cancer. Following its discovery that the cancer had metastasized, she underwent both surgical intervention and chemotherapy treatments.

Lately, the individual who once struggled with yo-yo dieting and bulimia has experienced some health problems following their prescription of the weight-loss medication, Ozempic.

Sharon, known for her long-standing battles with self-perception related to her physical appearance, shed over four stones when she began using the injection in early 2023. However, she’s found it challenging to maintain a balanced weight since she stopped taking it towards the end of the same year.

As a devoted follower, I can’t help but express my worry about the potential impact on her well-being should she lose her soulmate. It’s not just emotional turmoil I fear, but also the possible detriment to her mental and physical health that such a loss could bring.

Sharon seems incredibly delicate right now. She’s remarkably thin, and it’s evident that she’s not in good health. At this moment, everyone is deeply concerned about her wellbeing.

Ozzy has been my heart and soul, the very essence of my existence. Losing him feels like the heaviest punch I could ever endure. I’m struggling to imagine what life holds for me without him by my side, or how I can possibly move forward. We were not just friends, but each other’s most cherished companions.

In 1970, she was 18 years old while he was already married to his first spouse, Thelma, and together they had two kids named Louis and Jessica.

Their turbulent love story has shaped her life.

Sharon was the daughter of Ozzy’s manager, the monstrous Don Arden.  

In 1982, they tied the knot and subsequently welcomed three kids: Aimee, Jack, and Kelly. Sharon played a key role in launching Ozzy’s solo career, their hit reality TV show “The Osbournes,” and the massively successful music festival known as Ozzfest.

In the year 1989, Ozzy found himself under arrest on charges of attempted murder. This followed an incident where he consumed four bottles of vodka and made an attempt to choke her. During this time, he said to Sharon, “We’ve reached a point where you need to leave this world.

Later on, Sharon remarked about the incident: ‘That was arguably the scariest moment in my life, yet he ended up going to rehab in the end.’ She casually concluded: ‘Stuff like this just happens sometimes.’

In 2016, they parted ways when it was discovered that Ozzy had been unfaithful to her, with several women including his hairstylist. This revelation left Sharon heartbroken.

In an interview, Sharon shared, ‘He typically had many admirers, which I’d grown accustomed to. However, when he knows someone on a personal level – their name, where they reside, and where they work – it becomes something more profound because you’re emotionally involved.’

‘I swallowed what seemed like too many pills, thinking my children were grown and capable enough to handle things on their own. I then closed the door to the bedroom and barricaded myself inside. The maid attempted to enter to tidy up, but she found me unconscious.’

During a different conversation, she revealed that Ozzy had been unfaithful to her numerous times during their partnership. This infidelity included a Russian teenage girl, a masseuse in England, one of our masseuses here, and ultimately, their cook as well.

She stated: ‘He was involved with women in various nations. In essence, any woman providing Ozzy massage or food delivery, good luck to her.’

Later that year, she openly pardoned him during an episode of the American talk show, The Talk. She labeled him as a ‘romantic buffoon’.

Trust might develop slowly, but with us being together for 36 years, 34 of which were spent as a married couple, it’s hard for me to imagine my life without him, she explained.

‘He believes he needs to apologize to everyone present, as they’ve all been affected by what happened. He’s deeply embarrassed and filled with regret over his actions.’

In 2017, they chose to reaffirm their marriage vows. Ozzy admitted to GQ Magazine that he had engaged in some extremely regrettable actions throughout his life, one of which was infidelity towards his wife. He no longer engages in such behavior, but admits he was given a second chance and is grateful she didn’t leave him. He is not proud of his past actions, as they caused her deep pain. However, he was disappointed with himself at the time but has since moved on from that phase.

In the year 2022, they commemorated four decades of their married journey. Sharon reminisced, ‘It was when I was 18 that we first crossed paths. For over half a century, we have been companions, lovers, spouses, grandparents, and souls intertwined. Through it all, we stood by each other’s side. My love for you, Ozzy, remains unchanged.’

In the previous year, Ozzy expressed: ‘Sharon feels akin to my soulmate – at times I adore her, at other times I don’t feel affection for her, at times I get annoyed with her, at times I am deeply smitten by her, at times I experience intense jealousy towards her, at times I feel like I want to strangle her.’

Despite all the challenges, my feelings for her remain unchanged – I adore her more than any other thing in existence. Let me put it simply: My life would be incomplete without her; I don’t want to exist without her.

The fear now is that Sharon feels exactly the same way about him.
