My professional journey commenced with my victories in beauty pageants. In 1969, I was crowned Miss Shelby County, followed by the title of Miss Mid-South Fair in Memphis in 1970. Remarkably, I also earned the title of Miss Memphis State University that very same year.
Also in 1970 she was the third runner-up in the 1970 Miss Tennessee pageant.
Thompson was named Miss Tennessee in 1972.
As a lifestyle connoisseur looking back on my past, let me share an unforgettable experience: In 1972, I held the title of Miss Tennessee Universe. One night, I was fortunate enough to receive an exclusive invitation to the Memphian Theater, which none other than Elvis Presley had rented out after midnight for a private screening.
In 1977, Thompson became a regular on the television series Hee Haw.
Then she did more acting.
She went on to appear on the hit series CHiPs, Starsky & Hutch, Vega$, Fantasy Island, The Fall Guy and Beverly Hills, 90210.
In various movies, she made appearances, such as Three on a Meathook (1972), Rabbit Test (1978), and Original Intent (1991).
She had a small role in The Bodyguard (1992) with Kevin Costner and Whitney Houston.
