Zachary Levi on his DCU return possibility after Shazam! 2
Zachary Levi has talked about potentially continuing his role as Shazam in future DC movies, following the release of ‘Shazam! Fury of the Gods.’ He shared his thoughts on playing the character with Ansh Dubey from Feature First and discussed if he’d be open to returning to the role.
Zach Levi said he’d love to reprise his role as Shazam in James Gunn’s new DC Universe. He described playing the character as “one of the most fun experiences” and fondly remembered getting to embody both Superman and Big in one role, referencing childhood favorites. Levi also expressed how much he enjoyed working with the cast and called the overall experience of making the films “awesome.”
The actor stated he’d be willing to play Shazam again, or even a different DC character, if James Gunn or the studio asked him. He emphasized he’d only consider a role if the character or story felt fresh and unique – something that hadn’t been done before and offered a new perspective.
Levi pointed out that with so many superhero movies being made now, he particularly liked how Shazam! stood out from the rest. He explained, “What I loved about Shazam! was that it was really different, and I think that’s great.”
As of now, there is no official word on Levi’s future in the DCU.
