Shawn Mendes was recently spotted getting frisky with model Bruna Marquezine.
The 27-year-old singer and the 30-year-old Brazilian model were seen kissing while on a boat off the coast of Alagoas.
Now the image, shared by Instagram fan account @bru_marquezineee, is circulating the internet.
They were kissing deeply in the clear blue ocean, their dark, wet hair plastered to their heads.
TMZ reported that just weeks ago the new couple was seen jetsetting through an airport in Brazil.
It comes after Mendes addressed speculation about his sexuality during an October 2024 concert.
At the Colorado concert at Red Rocks Amphitheatre, he opened up about the ‘truth’ of his love life.
The singer, known for his past relationship with Camila Cabello, told his fans he was trying to be courageous while he works through some personal challenges.
He acknowledged the ongoing discussion about his sexuality, but said it felt a little ridiculous to try and define something so personal and intricate with simple labels. He believes sexuality is complex and can’t easily be categorized.
He shared that he’s still discovering who he is and what his sexuality means to him, just like everyone else.
Mendes shared that discussing his personal life always felt invasive. He was still in the process of self-discovery and felt it was something he needed to explore privately, a journey he’s still on.
He added that it’s frightening because society often has strong opinions about things like this.
I’m working on being more open and accepting of my feelings, and allowing myself to just be human. I don’t want to say much more about it right now.
The singer of ‘In My Blood’ also explained that he started his career very young, at just 15 years old. He feels like he missed out on typical teenage experiences and the chance to figure out who he was during those formative years.
Before singing his song ‘The Mountain,’ Shawn Mendes spoke about accepting people for who they are. The song itself includes the lines, ‘You can say I’m too young / You can say I’m too old / You can say I like girls or boys / whatever fits your mold,’ highlighting the idea of not letting others define you.
He shared that writing the song was deeply meaningful to him, allowing him to express something personal and heartfelt.
I’m just being honest and open about wanting to connect with people and live authentically.
He previously discussed speculation about his sexuality in a 2018 Rolling Stone interview.
He later said he’d thought to himself, “You’re all so fortunate I’m not gay and afraid to admit it.”
It’s a dangerous situation, and incredibly delicate. What matters is whether you enjoy the music. And honestly, it shouldn’t matter if I’m gay or not.
Before dating the singer of ‘Señorita,’ Marquezine had a complicated relationship with Brazilian soccer player Neymar, who is currently 33 years old.
