Shawn Levy shares Deadpool & Wolverine set photo from wild opening scene
As a longtime Marvel enthusiast and die-hard fan of both Deadpool and Wolverine, I must say that the latest collaboration between these two iconic characters has left me absolutely thrilled! The opening scene, with its audacious tone and daring choreography, sets the stage for a wild ride that perfectly encapsulates the spirit of Deadpool.

Director Shawn Levy, who helmed Deadpool & Wolverine, has unveiled exclusive backstage snaps of the film’s thrilling opening sequence.
In the beginning, the latest Marvel film finds Deadpool unearthing Wolverine’s grave following the storyline of 2017’s “Logan.” Subsequently, he uses the skeletal remains to eliminate a band of TVA operatives.
We also see the character engage in a fight sequence choreographed to NSYNC’s ‘Bye Bye Bye’.
On his Instagram, Levy shared a collection of photos from the photo-shoot, featuring him and Reynolds along with a skeleton. Accompanying the images, he wrote, “Wink wink, know your knowledge [emoji representing skull and bones]”.
Prior to the film’s premiere, I had a chat with Digital Spy, emphasizing the significance of establishing the perfect “mood” or “feel” right from the start.
In the opening minutes of each film, you establish its mood, and on this particular project, that mood was crucial due to the numerous inquiries regarding whether it would be toned down. However, I can assure you that the tone will not be softened or sanitized in any way.
Additionally, Levy confessed that he aimed to make the series align with the title sequences from the initial films.
He began our discussion acknowledging, “I was well aware that the expectations were extremely high,” but then he proposed an intriguing concept: “Let’s initiate the film right at that specific shot, and imagine Deadpool performing this action with those particular elements.”
“We anticipated it might be daring, but we believed it would pave the way and make a strong impact, just as intended – indeed, it remains Deadpool, and it’s designed to deliver unbridled fun.”
The movie featuring Deadpool and Wolverine has been a massive hit at the box office following its release, earning approximately $590 million worldwide.
As a gamer, I’ve just witnessed history in the making! The movie we watched smashed records for an R-rated film with the biggest opening weekend ever, and it’s not stopping there. It’s projected to become the top-grossing R-rated movie in the US by the end of its second weekend, which is simply incredible!
