Shaun the Sheep: The Beast of Mossy Bottom – New Movie in the Works!
According to recent reports, there’s going to be a fresh installment in the beloved series of Shaun the Sheep. The upcoming film is set to be named Shaun the Sheep: The Creature from Mossy Bottom.
In the synopsis provided by the film’s U.K. distributor, it is stated that “Shaun the Sheep: The Beast of Mossy Bottom” revolves around the residents of Mossy Bottom Farm as they eagerly anticipate Halloween. However, their excitement is ruined when the clumsy Farmer accidentally damages the flock’s favorite pumpkin patch. “Determined to rectify the situation, Shaun transforms into a ‘Mad Scientist,’ but things quickly get out of hand.” As events unfold, The Farmer goes missing, and a mysterious beast is sighted in the woods of Mossingham.
Aardman Animations hints that “everything is set for a massive new addition to the Shaun the Sheep series.” The upcoming movie, titled “The Beast of Mossy Bottom“, will be the third stop-motion animated feature in the franchise. Notably, Aardman Studios has also produced recent box office sensation Wallace & Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit and timeless hit Chicken Run.
The movie titled “Shaun the Sheep: The Beast of Mossy Bottom” is penned by Mark Burton (known for “Wallace & Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl”) in collaboration with Giles Pilbrow (author of “Shaun the Sheep: The Flight Before Christmas”). Steve Cox, who previously directed “Shaun the Sheep: The Flight Before Christmas,” and Matthew Walker from “Lloyd of the Flies” will be at the helm as directors. Richard Beek, who worked on “Wallace & Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl,” takes on the Producer role. Nick Park, Peter Lord, Carla Shelley, and Sarah Cox serve as Executive Producers for this production.
Shaun the Sheep Movie Teases Halloween Thrills
The initial Shaun the Sheep film premiered in 2015 and earned a remarkable 99% positive response on Rotten Tomatoes. This was later succeeded by Farmageddon in 2019, which also received high praise with a 96% rating on Rotten Tomatoes. Now, as the series grows yet again with The Beast of Mossy Bottom, it’s gearing up to deliver some enjoyable scares for the upcoming Halloween season.
According to Sarah Cox, Chief Creative Director at Aardman, Shaun the Sheep is a globally adored character. In our upcoming animated film, we infuse family-friendly excitement into a whimsical, spooky Halloween tale. You can anticipate smashed pumpkins, misbehaving science experiments, and a mischievous hairy monster running amok in Mossy Bottom – all served with the Flock’s signature hilarious humor.
STUDIOCANAL, who will be handling the global distribution of the movie outside the UK, hinted at the film’s Halloween-themed premise. The studio expressed their satisfaction in developing Shaun the Sheep and his fellow sheep into cinematic stars. In this, our third feature film of the franchise, we have an intriguing seasonal twist with Halloween, offering chills, spills, surprises, a dash of science, and both familiar and fresh characters.
