Sharon Stone, 67, blasts society for fear of nudity… 30 years after she stripped for Basic Instinct and Playboy

Sharon Stone has unleashed a fiery takedown of society’s ongoing discomfort with nudity.

The famous actor strongly rejected the notion that women need to cover up or feel embarrassed about their natural bodies.

A recent Instagram video featuring a famous actor is sparking conversation after they wondered why, even in 2026, people seem to be more upset by seeing skin than by witnessing violence.

The Golden Globe-winning actor started the honest video by asking, ‘Should we be afraid of what we see when we look in the mirror?’

As a lifestyle expert, I’ve always wondered why we treat basic bodily functions like they’re something to hide! Seriously, why the secrecy around things like using the restroom or even brushing our teeth? It feels so strange to be ashamed of just being human. It’s honestly one of the most peculiar concepts to me – we should be comfortable with our natural selves!

The 67-year-old actress was very direct, emphasizing that she wears a particular item constantly. She explained she puts it on when she wakes up, wears it all day, and even wears it to bed, stating firmly, ‘It’s my apartment, I live here.’

Her caption called out the pressure placed on women to fear ageing or hide their bodies.

She questioned why, even in 2026, society still focuses so much on how we look and not on who we are. She emphasized that people are defined by much more than their appearance – they are creators, family members, caregivers, and professionals, and so much more.

Stone revealed that her frustration boiled over after a recent incident in her studio.

The film crew requested she remove a painting—a portrait of a nude woman called ‘The Goddess’—from the camera’s view.

That request, she said, summed up everything wrong with modern attitudes.

She expressed strong feelings about the issue, questioning why nudity is often considered more problematic than violence on screens and in media. She felt it was illogical to be more concerned with bodies and naturalness than with the constant exposure to violence in everyday life.

The Basic Instinct star previously shared how much she struggled with ageing in her 40s.

The former Playboy cover model shared that she used to struggle with body image about twenty years ago, but now she’s more comfortable and happy with how she looks.

In an interview with German Vogue, she revealed that she once locked herself in the bathroom with a bottle of wine until she could truly come to terms with her body. She described this happening during her forties.

Meanwhile, Sharon previously admitted she loves her body ‘so much more’ now she is older.

The former fashion model said: ‘I like my body so much more. I’m so grateful to my body.’

The actress, known for her role in Casino, shared that she was constantly criticized about her appearance when she was younger, with people always pointing out perceived flaws.
