Sharon Osbourne’s unwavering pillar of support: Daddy’s girl Kelly steps up for her mother in the wake of Ozzy’s death as she throws support behind all her grieving family members

Kelly Osbourne held her mother Sharon’s hand tightly as Sharon made her first public appearance since the death of her husband, Ozzy.

On Wednesday night, the couple made a public appearance at a glamorous event in London, hosted by Rebecca Vallance. It was their first major outing after a difficult year for their family.

Ozzy Osbourne, the iconic frontman of Black Sabbath, passed away from heart failure at his home in Buckinghamshire on July 22nd. This came just two weeks after he played a final concert with his bandmates at Villa Park in Birmingham.

Since her father died, Kelly, 41, has become a strong and reliable source of support for her mother, Sharon, and has naturally taken charge of the family.

With her brother Jack competing on ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here’, Kelly is the one their mother is relying on most right now.

Kelly immediately came to Jack’s defense last week after a disagreement with Kelly Brook on the show, especially given the challenging year her family had been through.

She strongly criticized model Kelly, calling her a ‘bully’ and accusing her of putting on an act after Kelly argued with Jack on television.

She publicly criticized Kelly on Instagram, calling her ‘overly dramatic’ after Kelly reacted strongly to gutting a fish on Wednesday night’s TV show.

Kelly’s brother, Jack, who is 40 years old, noticed she was having trouble making dinner and kindly offered to help by asking, “Can I cut up the fish for you?”

I was really shocked when I heard Kelly describe what happened with Jack. He’d initially seemed happy to let her have a turn, but she said his face totally changed when he saw the fish. Apparently, he just rushed over and pushed her aside – she even compared it to a caveman grabbing something! She was determined to get it herself, though, and wasn’t going to let him bully her out of the way. It just didn’t seem like the Jack I thought I knew.

Honestly, watching Kelly try to fillet that fish was… a lot. She absolutely insisted on doing it herself, but she kept getting so nauseous from the smell, actually gagging and retching. Sharon clearly thought it was all for show, and she didn’t hold back, calling Kelly out for being ‘performative.’ It was pretty awkward to watch, if I’m being honest.

Osbourne has come to her brother’s defense, explaining that the conversation sparked her protective feelings and made her want to confront the Heart Radio presenter due to their attitude.

In a post on Instagram, she expressed her dislike for Kelly Brook, criticizing her behavior as attention-seeking and overly dramatic, specifically mentioning an incident where Brook allegedly pushed past others to get to the food.

You make me feel protective and a little angry, like you’re taking advantage of the situation and I want to stand up to you.

It’s understandable that Kelly is so protective of Jack, especially after he’s struggled emotionally in the jungle following the loss. Her family has already faced many challenges this year.

Kelly has also repaired her relationship with her sister Aimee, despite past difficulties. This will likely bring some peace of mind to their grieving sister, Sharon, as she deals with the loss of her husband.

It marks a mature move from Kelly to provide a more stable family unit after Ozzy’s death.

Jack and Kelly Osbourne were both at their father Ozzy Osbourne’s funeral in July, marking their first public appearance together in a while.

As a lifestyle expert, I’ve seen families navigate tricky situations, and the story of Kelly and Aimee is a good example. Their relationship has been strained for years, stemming from a decision Aimee made when she was just 16. She chose to leave home to avoid being on her family’s reality show on MTV, and that really created a rift between them that’s lasted a long time.

Recently, the siblings revealed they weren’t speaking to each other. Kelly explained in an interview that they simply didn’t connect and couldn’t understand each other’s perspectives.

After Ozzy passed away following a six-year struggle with Parkinson’s disease, The Mail reported that his daughters, Kelly and Aimee, were with him at his home during his last days.

This summer, the sisters traveled from Los Angeles to be with their father and help care for him.

It’s been a really tough time for everyone lately. I’ve noticed Kelly and Aimee have been spending a lot of time at the house, and honestly, it just breaks your heart. They were all really hoping he’d have more time, and it’s so sad that wasn’t possible. It’s a difficult situation for all involved, and they’re all grieving.

‘But it’s so lovely that he had his children around him during his last days.’

It came as a stark change.

In a 2015 interview with The Independent, Aimee revealed that she and Kelly didn’t have a particularly close relationship. She explained they had reached a point of acceptance, but didn’t socialize outside of work.

Aimee, known as ARO as a singer, was born in London and grew up in California until she was 16. She moved out on her own when filming for the reality show The Osbournes started in the early 2000s.

Looking back on her choice not to be on the show, she explained that she was still discovering herself amidst the busyness of family life, and didn’t want that personal journey displayed publicly on television.

I was trying to shield my family – myself, my parents, and my younger siblings. They were all so young and easily influenced.

Last month, Kelly planned a lovely surprise for Sharon to celebrate her first birthday since losing Ozzy.

Kelly shared a video on Instagram showing the birthday decorations she secretly put up for her mom while she was sleeping, gently asking viewers to be quiet so as not to wake her.

She said: ‘Shhh! So it’s my mom’s birthday today, and I just decorated her room.’

Kelly turned the camera to show lots of balloons and presents, then filmed Sharon, who was asleep in bed – it was Sharon’s 73rd birthday.

She added: ‘And she’s still sleeping.’

While in the jungle, Jack has been sharing his feelings of sadness with his fellow campmates, and talking about what his father meant to him.

He reminisced about Ozzy’s legendary last concert this summer, fondly recalling his outrageous behavior – like the time he bit the head off a bat. He pointed out that actions like that wouldn’t be accepted today.

Jack Osbourne became well-known in the early 2000s through the reality TV show The Osbournes, which he appeared on with his sister Kelly. His parents are Sharon Osbourne and the late Ozzy Osbourne.

It’s been nearly four months since the passing of Ozzy, the iconic singer from Black Sabbath, and his wife, Sharon, is still deeply grieving.

Jack shared with Lisa Riley about the passing of his father, explaining that while they knew he was ill, his death still came as a surprise. He said they hadn’t expected it to happen so quickly.

He explained that it was a perfect, definitive ending. After a huge performance, the artist simply announced, ‘I’m finished,’ and walked away.

The conversation deeply moved Jack to tears, reminding him of his father and how much Ozzy would have encouraged his choice to go on the show.

Last month, Sharon was seen looking deeply saddened for the first time since Ozzy’s funeral.

In the years before his passing, Ozzy faced several health challenges. A fall at home in 2019 worsened his condition and contributed to his declining health.

After hearing the sad news, Sharon shared a message on social media thanking fans for the incredible love and support they showed towards her and her family.

Sharon shared that she’d relied heavily on the support of friends and family, and was still adjusting to life after the loss of her husband, who she considered the center of her world.

In a new documentary covering the last three years of his life, Kelly Osbourne revealed how difficult it was to watch her mother, Sharon, care for their beloved dog, Ozzy, as he battled illness until his passing.

Kelly shared that seeing her mother go through this has been the most painful aspect of the entire situation.

It’s incredibly painful to watch someone you love deeply become weaker and suffer.
