Sharon Osbourne reveals husband Ozzy’s heartwarming final words about his fans in a new interview that took place just five days before the Black Sabbath legend’s death

As a lifestyle aficionado, I’d like to share a touching story from the world of music. In his heartfelt farewell, Ozzy Osbourne, my dear husband, expressed his deep gratitude towards his fans during their last Black Sabbath concert. His final words were a heartwarming tribute to all of you, expressing love and appreciation for the unwavering support and dedication you’ve shown him throughout his career.

Last month, the lead singer of Black Sabbath, popularly recognized as the “Prince of Darkness,” passed away at the age of 76, a few weeks following his last performance with the band.

In a recent interview conducted merely five days prior to his passing, Sharon couldn’t help but express enthusiasm about the event, openly acknowledging that it had been an outstanding triumph.

She informed Pollstar: “I believe this was the initial instance of someone retiring while their performance was streamed for charity purposes.

For the very first time, someone parted with such an unusual ‘goodnight’, and it was absolutely fitting as a grand finale for a career that has spanned so many years. I felt it was essential for Ozzy to conclude his journey in a memorable fashion, rather than simply fading away without a significant send-off.

The wife of the music legend also revealed how Ozzy was blown away by the support at the concert.

That evening, she shared that Ozzy told her, “I never realized so many people appreciate me.

Approaching the stage for his final performance at Villa Park stadium, just under three weeks prior to his passing, Ozzy Osbourne, hailing from Birmingham, joined forces once more with his original Black Sabbath comrades – a union not seen since 2005.

The concert served as a fundraiser for three different charitable organizations: Cure Parkinson’s, Birmingham Children’s Hospital, and Acorns Children’s Hospice.

Over 42,000 people crammed the venue for the Back To The Beginning concert, where he expressed gratitude to the audience in his closing remarks: “I can hardly express how I feel – thank you from the very depths of my heart.

The screen displayed a heartfelt message: “Thanks a million for everything! You’re all utterly fantastic. Keep shining, Birmingham!” And then, the night sky was illuminated by a spectacular fireworks display.

In simpler terms, Ozzy announced that his upcoming show might be his last because he revealed in 2020 that he’s been dealing with Parkinson’s disease.

The musician has experienced seven operations over the last five years, with one of them being a fourth spinal surgery in 2023, and they have been dealing with Parkinson’s disease since 2003.

In a poignant statement prior to his last concert, I, a devoted fan, recall Ozzy expressing his wish to keep creating music even as he stepped back from live performances. Sadly, he passed away before realizing this dream.

Ozzy Osbourne’s most recent solo album, released in 2022 as Patient Number 9, boasts an impressive roster of collaborators. Among them are his Black Sabbath bandmate Tony Iommi, Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck, Zakk Wylde, and Pearl Jam’s Mike McCready, along with several other notable musicians.

Just last month, a massive turnout occurred in Birmingham as thousands gathered to honor the late “Prince of Darkness” during his funeral procession.

The procession was preceded by the lively Bostin’ Brass ensemble, playing remakes of Black Sabbath hits like Iron Man, while countless emotional fans lined the streets, joining in with their voices to honor Ozzy as they remembered him.

The funeral procession featuring Ozzy’s casket, decorated with letters of purple blooms that spelled ‘Ozzy’, traveled past his old residence on Lodge Road, Aston, not long after noon.

External to the terraced residence, near Villa Park, flowers were arranged. Meanwhile, a photograph of Osbourne was displayed in the front-facing window of the dwelling’s bay area.

Sharon took the front in the group, accompanied by her kids Jack, Aimee, and Kelly, along with Louis, Ozzy’s child from a previous union. Together, they provided solace to one another during their profound sorrow.

Multitudes of individuals were spotted gathering, not just on Black Sabbath Bridge, but all throughout the city center route leading up to the Black Sabbath Bridge, where his procession eventually stopped.

Enthusiasts applauded and shouted “Ozzy, Ozzy, Ozzy” while the iconic rock star’s funeral procession moved through the city streets of Birmingham. Sharon, watching from the sidelines, dabbed her eyes as she listened to the heartfelt tribute.

As a lifestyle connoisseur, I find myself compelled to express my admiration for Ozzy, a true embodiment of a ‘working-class icon.’ Recently, in our interactions during his conferment of the city’s freedom, I observed his humility and earthbound nature up close. He was more than just a celebrated figure; he was a working-class hero, deeply connected to our city.

It wasn’t apparent that he was a famous rock star; instead, he came across as an everyday, genuinely kind individual. Hailing from humble working-class origins, he had a deep affection for his fans and his hometown of Birmingham. He never missed an opportunity to showcase his pride in being born in Aston, always representing the city with honor wherever he traveled.

His phrase was “Birmingham Forever,” and it fills me with immense pride to be a resident here. Today served as his grand farewell.

In a recent recognition of their extraordinary contributions to the city, Ozzy Osbourne and his Black Sabbath band members (Terence ‘Geezer’ Butler, Tony Iommi, and Bill Ward) were granted the honorary title of “Freemen of Birmingham.

Ozzy is survived by his wife Sharon and his five children Jessica, Louis, Aimee, Kelly and Jack.

According to a statement from Ozzy’s family, they shared that he had passed away, surrounded by affection, and expressed their deep sorrow in a manner that no words could fully capture.
