Sharon Horgan turned heads in a daring, see-through dress, while Gwendoline Christie opted for a strong, sophisticated power suit. Both actresses were among the British and Irish stars attending the Emmys.
The Emmy Awards this year features a mix of established British and Irish acting stars and exciting new talent, all competing for awards at the glamorous ceremony in Los Angeles.
Owen Cooper, known for his role in the popular series *Adolescence*, is a frontrunner to win the Supporting Actor Award. If he wins, he’ll become the youngest male ever to receive the honor. The show is a major contender at the awards, having received a total of 13 nominations.
Sharon Horgan, nominated for her work both writing and starring in Bad Sisters, turned heads on the red carpet in a daring black dress. The gown was sheer with lace accents and featured cut-out details.
The Irish actress’s gown featured daring straps and a chiffon skirt, as well as polka dot fabric.
Severance actress Gwendoline Christie looked incredibly stylish at the event, wearing a sophisticated pale pink pantsuit.

The English actress received a nomination for her role in the drama series *Severance*, in the category of Outstanding Guest Actress.
Sam Nivola, 21, who you might recognize from The White Lotus and is the son of actors Emily Mortimer and Alessandro Nivola, was also at the event as the HBO series earned a total of 23 nominations.
Sam looked sharp in a black tailcoat paired with a floral velvet vest and wide-leg satin pants.
White Lotus star Walton Goggins, 53, showed affection for his wife, Nadia Conners, in a public display of love.
Walton and Nadia kissed while posing for photos on the red carpet. Walton was wearing a white and black Louis Vuitton suit.
Nadia looked stunning in a flowing white chiffon dress. It had a daring design with black straps, a cut-out section at the waist, a low neckline, and a stylish choker scarf.
Tracy Ifeachor, a star from Pitt, looked incredibly elegant on the red carpet. She wore a shimmering silver sequin gown with delicate capped sleeves and carried a sparkling, jeweled clutch.
Charlie Brooker, the creator of Black Mirror, attended the red carpet event with Bisha K. Ali, his co-nominee for writing the sixth season’s final episode, and executive producer Jessica Rhoades.

Charlie looked sharp in a dark blue satin suit and tie, and Bisha wore a stylish black suit with unique metal cross buttons.
Gerran Howell, a Welsh actor known for his role in the HBO drama *The Pitt*, also walked the red carpet.
The actor, known for his role in Barry, wore a stylish, oversized dark brown suit with a dark grey shirt and tie.
Erin Doherty and Stephen Graham, who appeared together in Adolescence, have both been nominated for awards. They join British actress Aimee Lou Wood (from The White Lotus) and Irish actor Colin Farrell, recognized for his work in The Penguin.
Scott Jacoby currently holds the record as the youngest male actor to win an award, receiving Best Supporting Actor in 1973 at age 16 for his role in the drama, *That Certain Summer*.
The Daily Mail reported that Owen will be nominated for Best Supporting Actor, not Best Actor. Experts believe this was a smart decision that significantly increases his odds of winning.
He’ll be competing against his co-star, Ashley Walters, in the same category. This is Walters’ first Emmy nomination, recognizing his performance as DI Luke Bascombe.

Stephen, who helped create, write, and star in *Adolescence* (playing Owen’s father), has also been nominated for Outstanding Leading Actor and Outstanding Writing for a Limited Series.
The Guardian praised Erin’s powerful single-shot scene, where she played child psychologist Briony interviewing teenage murderer Jamie Miller (played by Owen), calling it the standout episode of an already impressive four-part series.
She’s nominated for the award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Limited Series or Movie, and she’s up against tough competition. Her co-star, Christine Tremarco, along with Ruth Negga, Deirdre O’Connell, Chloë Sevigny, and Jenny Slate are also competing for the prize.
Colin Farrell won a Screen Actors Guild Award earlier this year for his performance in HBO’s popular DC series, *The Penguin*, and he’s likely hoping to win another one.
Before the event, young actor Owen shared his excitement, saying he’ll always remember this moment. He added that breaking the record would be amazing, and everything feels incredible. He also reflected on how different things were just a year ago, when he wasn’t sure what the future held.
‘Never could I have believed that this show would change my life in the way that it has.’
Now a global star thanks to his hit Netflix show, the young actor has shared what famous character he’d love to portray next.
He confessed that seeing Tom Holland, now 28, in the disaster film *The Impossible* – which depicted the 2004 Thailand tsunami – inspired him to pursue acting. He now hopes to one day play Spider-Man in the Marvel Universe, taking over the role from his idol.

The young actor’s performance in Adolescence has been widely praised, with many suggesting he deserves a BAFTA nomination. Owen was particularly touched, though, by the enthusiastic support he received from his friends back home in Warrington.
Aimee, 31, is up for Best Supporting Actress in a Drama series for her work on The White Lotus, but she’s also dealt with some negativity. She was mocked for her teeth in a Saturday Night Live sketch, and there were rumors of a disagreement with her co-star and romantic partner on the show, Walton Goggins.
In a recent interview with British GQ, she revealed that Mike White, the creator of White Lotus, had to advocate strongly for her to be cast, which initially made her doubt herself.
She continued: ‘When someone (not a producer) told me Mike fought for me it was said in a nice way.
I got really caught up in my own feelings of self-doubt, which is what I meant to explain. I wanted to make sure everyone knew HBO has been incredibly supportive throughout this.
In a recent interview with GQ, Aimee candidly discussed her insecurities, revealing she’d thought, ‘HBO didn’t want me, and I know why-because I’m not attractive.’
She recalled Mike saying, “Please, let me have the unattractive one!” That thought kept running through her mind, she explained.
