Shark Tank’s Barbara Corcoran 100% Invoked An Incident With Donald Trump From When She Was Trying To Land The ABC Series Gig

For 16 seasons on ABC, with a 17th slated for the 2025 TV calendar, “Shark Tank” has been assisting entrepreneurs in launching their ventures. Barbara Corcoran has played a significant role in this process, yet it’s interesting to know that she wasn’t always the top contender for her position on the show. In fact, another individual was initially favored, but Corcoran aggressively campaigned to secure the job, even mentioning Donald Trump during her negotiations.

Barbara Corcoran recognized instantly that the position in “Shark Tank” was tailor-made for her. Upon learning that producer Mark Burnett had approached another woman, she promptly sent an email detailing her reasons for not being missed out. Later, she chose to share this letter on Facebook, explaining it to her followers: “Here’s why I should be considered.

Despite another candidate being selected, I refused to back down. I compiled a list outlining why I should get the chance and sent it to the producer. That email was instrumental in securing my place, altering the trajectory of my life forever. Looking back seventeen years later, I’m incredibly grateful that I clicked send. A word of advice: sometimes, you need to knock harder before the door opens.

In Barbara Corcoran’s account, she viewed the rejection from Shark Tank as a lucky charm, as it often preceded her most significant achievements. She went on to share instances like a teacher labeling her “stupid” due to her dyslexia and real estate tycoons refusing her because of her gender. Notably, she also mentioned a notable figure.

Later, it was The Donald himself who falsely claimed under oath that I would not receive the $4 million commission he owed me for my efforts in saving his skin and executing the largest real estate transaction in the city’s annals.

In this case, if you decide to invoke someone’s name for a position, it doesn’t get any more influential than “The Donald,” who is also known as the main character of another Mark Burnett-produced series, The Apprentice, and subsequently became the President of the United States. It’s likely that her timely intervention during his legal troubles (often referred to as saving him) was advantageous in this situation.

As a die-hard fan, it’s clear that Barbara Corcoran snagged the opportunity to join Shark Tank and has been a constant presence in every season since its debut in 2009. She’s poured her investment dollars into more than a hundred innovative products and services, including a major deal with Coverplay during Season 1 and other successful ventures like The Comfy and Daisy Cakes over the ensuing years. It makes me wonder if those budding entrepreneurs would have found their footing without Barbara’s tenacity in claiming her spot on the show before its premiere!

Just as Daymond John has remained dedicated to the show despite tough economic periods, it’s not surprising that she too has firm views on who the top guest shark of all time is.

The seventeenth season of “Shark Tank” is set to air at 10:00 PM Eastern Time on Wednesday, September 24th, on ABC. If you’re a Hulu subscriber, you can stream it the following day.
