Shannen Doherty is remembered by Beverly Hills, 90210 cast at 90s Con following her death at age 53
As a lifestyle expert with decades of experience under my belt, I have witnessed firsthand the profound impact that celebrities can have on our lives. Shannen Doherty was more than just a talented actress; she was an inspiration to many who battled cancer and showed unwavering courage in her fight against the disease.
This week, Shannen Doherty received recognition from a few of her previous co-stars from Beverly Hills, 90210 during the 90s Convention.
As a loyal admirer, I’m deeply saddened to share that the actress who brought Brenda Walsh to life on our screens during the early ’90s teen drama phenomenon, passed away on July 13. She fought valiantly against cancer for many years before her departure.
In a special gathering at Daytona Beach, Florida, Brian Austin Green, Jennie Garth, Ian Ziering, and Gabrielle Carteris came together on stage to honor their fellow cast member who was part of “Charmed.
51-year-old Green remarked about his late friend, “She was a remarkable role model for all, demonstrating courage by putting aside her personal struggles and health issues to share her journey with everyone. It took immense bravery.
He commented, ‘Experiencing something challenging like that and choosing to be utterly honest and open with everyone takes courage.’
Tori Spelling had initially been scheduled to attend the three-day event, but she ended up cancelling her appearance just a few days prior to its start on September 13.
63-year-old Carter mentioned that due to her personal battle with cancer, Shannen served as a source of inspiration for those around her.
The star revealed, ‘I have a friend right now who is really sick with cancer, and she said that Shannen really inspired her.
I believe her impact is significantly helping those in need by instilling hope where it may have been lost.
At the time of Doherty’s passing, Gabrielle expressed that Shannen, despite her youth, showed immense bravery. By openly sharing her experiences, she has provided support to countless others.
On the internet, she posted, ‘Too young and too sad. Rest In Peace Shannen. I’m sure Luke is waiting with open arms to embrace you,’ a reference to the late actor Luke Perry from Beverly Hills, 90210 who passed away in 2019 at age 52.
In response, Garth, aged 52, expressed her sentiments on social media in July, honoring the former teen star. She wrote, ‘Our bond was genuine and sincere. Though we were frequently portrayed as rivals, this did not mirror the reality of our true relationship which was based on mutual respect and appreciation.’
As a lifestyle connoisseur, I find myself reflecting on my experiences working alongside a group that felt more like kin than colleagues. Much like Jason Priestley, 55, who portrayed Brenda’s brother in the beloved series, I can attest to the fact that our bond transcended the boundaries of work and extended into our leisure activities as well. We cherished each day on set and the moments spent together off it, fostering an unbreakable connection that only time will test.
He mentioned that Shannen was an exceptional child, who, much like others, experienced difficulties. She was always open about these challenges.
This longtime figure from Hollywood mentioned, ‘Spending so many precious moments with her over the past years, particularly during the recent ones, is something I am deeply grateful for.’
When she passed away, it seemed like all the things we needed to express to each other had already been said. Shanzen valiantly battled cancer, putting up a fierce fight for an extended period, and managed to balance her career and personal life throughout this struggle. She was truly impressive in her determination to fight.
